The birthday bit made me remember -
Mike Archer, Gerry Dinardo, Nick Saban and Les Miles (4 of the 5 permanent HC before Orgeron) were all born in the just over (10 days) 24-month period between October 31st, 1951 and November 10th, 1953 - despite their tenures covering a range of about 30 years of LSU football.
Yet another argument that Archer was too young and shouldn't be fully judged - he was a fantastic DC for us. He was a Superbowl winning linebacker coach in the NFL. He was just made HC too young (IMHO) and that ruined his chances forever.
Sounds like our QB situation over that same 30-year period, with few exceptions.

Whole heartedly agree. Better recruiting and things could have been so much better, maybe avoid the Hallman fiasco altogether.

DiNardo - "I scripted my first 15 plays every game, but they didn't work, so I stopped."
Les - "My scripted plays didn't work either, but we kept trying them, over and over."

Dinardo: "When Faneca went early in the draft, I couldn't win the big games anymore."
Miles: "Hell, I had 4 players taken in the first 30 picks of the draft in 2007 and won the championship that Fall. But I'll be damned if I can tell you how I did it.

Both Yankees who played offensive line up north. Both assistant coaches under McCartney at Colorado. Both coached the OL at Colorado (maybe at the same time - 1983 according to Wiki, but that could be a typo - did they have co-position coaches back then or is it possible Dinardo coached the DL in 82 and 83 before becoming OC). Both head coaches at LSU at some point. How about this one? Share a birthday - November 10th, Dinardo 1952 and Miles 1953.
This is a pretty shitty caption

Les don't make the same mistake I made. Going back to coaching only confirms that you should have been fired sooner!
