He's one of the best recruiters on our staff. True story. Shea Dixon got that info from inside the administration.

Work with a guy who played under Steve early in his coaching career, he thinks the world of him. He said he was ahead of his time and had a great knack of getting match-ups as a playcaller. If you look at his career, he had some great offenses at tech and Georgia and those big stops at a & m and Clemson speak to his coaching ability. The guy I work with said tight ends were beneath him and how good he was with quarterbacks and wide receivers and was great at simplifying things. He's seen a lot of football and is probably valuable in a lot of ways for LSU.

I would say his coaching resume is pretty darn good. Just b/c he is listed as "tight ends" coach and we never throw to our tight ends does not mean he is worthless. You've got 9 "coaches" trying to keep up with over 100 fotball players so I'm sure he wears a lot of hats like they all do. He's also tough as nails so he has the right mentality for the job. Miles judge of character and talent is a good testament as well.

He also happens to be (I think) the only coach on our staff who was born and raised in La. and has an awesome track record as a football player in our great state (all-state QB and LSU QB for 4 years) and has a ton of experience coaching at the collegiate level. He also keeps his nose clean and out of trouble and does his job very, very well. Enough said. Leave the man alone. Give 'em hell Big "E."

I don't no what kind of coach he is but he was a shitty QB at LSU.

I think this is the problem, he was QB in our "not so good years", and some people won't let it go. I met him when he was in Ruston, seemed like a nice guy, and me and nobody else in this thread knows a damn thing about his contributions to the football team..
