If you didn't take the field to play in football how could say "we" won? You didn't the players did.
And FWIW I can't remember one time where a recruit stated he wanted to come to LSU because he just wanted to be a part of the student body. The typical responses are how nice the campus is and how great the facilities are.

I hope and pray that I didn't read what you typed as your honest opinion.
"What about those of us who actually give a shite about the University itself, and what it means to US. You are not included in that, and never will be."
I beg to differ... Although LSUNO is now defunct, it WAS LSU (UNO grads take note) We had no organized sports, just intramurals. Our athletics were represented by the flagship in BR.
To say that I am not included in that is not only supremely offensive, it reeks of elitism.
Thank you and have a nice day.

I already replied to that earlier, and said that I think anyone associated with the LSU system is part of the community. Thanks for ignoring it.

It was more of an inpired response.
The second part of the post was little more serious.

Russell's dad is not allowed to say "we" when LSU win or lose games. He better say "they".lol. I've talked to former athletes from LSU and other major schools and they have NO problem with regular Joe Blows saying we. But they do have a problem with students turning their backs on them/talking shite and not showing up for games when the team is down then they have the nerves to say "WE" won the SEC/Big 12 when the team is good again.

there arent many topics i hate more than this one when people try to say you cant say "we". how fricking dumb do you have to be?
I agree, especially when Louisiana State University compliance office tells me the only way I can give a High School athlete money or take them out to dinner/on trips is if they are my immediate family members. I called about my cousin, they said if he wasn't an immediate family member I can't have any contact with the athlete. So yes I say "we" because I have to follow the same rules when it comes to High School athletes as coaches, alumni, etc.

I graduated from Tech, but my dream since I was a tiny tot was to play football and attend LSU just like my Dad and uncle. Those dreams never happened, but I've been an LSU season ticket holder since 1999. My first game was a 41-7 loss to Auburn after I drove all the way down from Huntsville, AL to watch it.
Thinking about it, I say "they" when speaking of the Cubs, the West Monroe Rebels, and sometimes even the Saints. But I feel like I'm part of LSU just like the players, alums, fans, and the state dammit. Some of you think that since you were lucky enough to have the privelage to attend LSU that you are entitled to say "we" and the rest of us aren't.
I'm part of LSU just like LSU is part of me. And "we" are awesome!

My dad graduated from lsu, my brother and sister attended lsu their freshman year, and I took 4 independent study classes thru lsu. Are all 4 of us aloud to say "we" when referring to lsu?

It was a joke. This fellow posts more on the SEC Rant and is an Alabama fan and makes less than complimentary posts about LSU.

Didn't know that.lol. Thought he had the Alabama logo to separate/make his posts stand out from others.

Damn that's harsh. J/k. Seriously tho, my dad is the only lsu fan in the family. My brother and sister went to school there, but I would think that you would want these die hard lsu fans saying "we" before me, my brother, or sister say it.
