They had elite players, but weren’t an elite offensive line. There’s a big difference there and it all comes down to poor scheme and coaching.

You absolutely can’t say this. It was scheme. If that were the case, Campbell wouldn’t have been highlighted lighting someone up 20 yards down field on a play earlier this season.
With RPO, the linemen can’t always engage to run block because the QB can keep the ball and pass (they don’t want to get a penalty for illegal blocking downfield). The QB was ZERO threat to run and really hated handing it off at times. So that left them passing a lot. They were really good at pass protection until injuries took out Dellinger and the other guard (his name slips me now Frazier???? Maybe).
The run game is about lining up and continuing to pound the ball but there has to be creativity and variability. None of that existed since Kelly has been here. Jayden Daniels made the run game in 2023. His threat to run opened up everything.

Give me a 5 star OL and a 3 star running back and we will be very strong in the running game. We have been putting 5 star RB behind a 3 star OL and struggling against the stout SEC defenses.

Ummm
You said this…”Not at run blocking”. To this statement “but 2024 OL was elite”
Look above for your repair.
There were numerous comments about the lack of run game but that was the same line in 2023. Daniels had 1100 yards rushing.
The QBs lack of ability to run or even a threat to run and the decision making from that same QB, it is always stand up and pass protect first mindset. That’s what they were conditioned to do.

they were not asked to run block. Daniels had 1100 yards in 23 from the same line. Nuss had 4000+ passing from the same line. It was all scheme with an injured QB in 25 that led to their demise.
Cole Cubelic stated all 2024 season they didn’t ask the Oline to run block and criticized their scheme and play calling.

Jacob Hester would never transfer.

He would have had to set out a year back then.

The arguments against the OP are valid - Kiffin and a new OL should improve our run game dramatically. That being said, the bigger picture appears to be:

* if there are no ramifications of putting your name in the portal to test the free agent market then hypothetically ALL starters and entire position groups can come and go every single year. The entire RB “room” at Texas has entered the portal, if I understand it right.

* This dynamic, if unchecked by caps or something, is going to drive up NIL budgets to like $100M within the next two years and then there will be anti-trust lawsuits from schools / conferences to set boundaries.

In short, yes it is a free country and I love capitalism but this is unsustainable as a business model.
