Is Alabama really as bad as they looked at Oklahoma last week? I still find that game unfathomable.

Gunna take a lot of heat, but you aren’t wrong. They’ve completely shown so far all they look at is records and winning your schedule.

You aren’t rewarded for these games if they fall out of contention either. Even if we did beat USC, the win would be completely devalued right now

Bama fans can relax. Even with 3 losses, they still will probably be in the Playoffs. They are ranked 13. One of the 12 teams above Bama will lose this weekend and Bama is in the Playoffs.

Bama fans can relax, IMHO. I cannot see any scenario in which Bama football is left out of the 12-team Playoff Tournament.

What if Bama's record includes FOUR losses? Well, maybe then Bama will be left out.

If they go to 9 conference games, which will happen since Saban is gone, they will only play cupcakes.

Of course Bama has no chance if they're upset by Auburn, but let's assume that:

1. Alabama beats Auburn, as expected
2. South Carolina beats Clemson in Death Valley
3. LSU beats Oklahoma (better than 50% chance that happens)

It boils down to Alabama and South Carolina.

South Carolina would be the LAST TEAM IN due to no bad losses, and Alabama would become the FIRST TEAM OUT-- losses @ Vandy and @ Oklahoma, both finishing 6-6, are bad losses. Same logic applies as in the basketball tournament

I agree. But if we’d just win our SEC games…even one less loss…we are in. It’s OUR FAULT. We had a way to fix this ourselves

What incentive do we have to go to 9 conference games? This isn’t the big 10, where the top 2-3 teams are religiously favored by 20 or more for 7 of those games.

Totally Agree. Have you seen the schedules of indiana, ND, miami, clemson, etc..Maybe LSU needs to move to the ACC.

Same thing driving every major CFB change….money.

ESPN and TV audiences don’t care about watching SEC schools beat up on FCS or lower tier G5 schools 2-4 games a year.

I do not disagree that there is no longer any advantage to playing in SEC. Same goes for baseball when the minimum SEC wins argument kicks up. However SEC is forcing the OOC game.

"SEC teams again will play an eight-game conference schedule with four non-conference opponents. One of those four non-conference opponents is required to be from the ACC, Big Ten, Big 12, Pac-12 or major independent."

Are you one of the same dudes that were getting all over USC coach for wanting to cancel the LSU game in Vegas? So you would rather play Southern than Clemson because you are afraid to lose? That mindset is disturbing.
