Hello,
I am traveling down to LSU on Sept 29, 2016 and will be in town for the LSU vs Mizzou game on October 1, 2016. We have never been to Baton Rouge before and this will be my first Tigers game. I would like to get the full experience with tailgating and pre-game activities. I was wondering if any one can point us in the right direction to get the best experience for our trip. Any tips or advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks.
Your Northern Neighbours.

I am sure you will get a lot of solid advice, just ignore the drunk college kids who respond thinking they are funny. There are at least 3 ranters here who normally provide an in depth response covering all the questions you have so just wade through the bull shite.

Park somewhere north of campus about 8 hours before kickoff, then just start walking towards the stadium. Just walk up and introduce yourselves, tell people where you're from and it's your first game in Death Valley. You'll be wasted and full by the time you get to your seats.

ETA: Keltic brings up a good point. Try to avoid anyone who looks younger than 25-30. By no means are all of them douches, but it's better to not find out which ones are.

Don't think I was sucking up in anyway, was simply asking a question.

Simple advice would be to get to campus early (you can google LSU campus layout) and simply walk around introduce yourselves as visitors from Canada coming to experience what u heard was the greatest CFB venue in the US. Tailgate crews will eat that up and roll out the red carpet for you. If you can coordinate your Gameday attire to incorporate both a Canadian symbol with LSU gear it will make it easier for the tailgate crews to understand (some might be pretty well sloshed by the time u get there).

Also AVOID the college kid aged tailgate crews. They typically can be pricks and rarely have good food and drinks.

Haha yeah and its also color not colour right?
I thought about renting a car but our hotel is only 6miles away. We are just south east of LSU Campus. We are only down for 5 days. We are both 22 years old.

Welcome to the board LJT. A lot of pricks here. Just ignore them. Def spend the whole day around the stadium and tailgating on campus. Like they said just let people know who you are and where your from and you will have a blast. Great food and drink.

You may want to go to New Orleans the day before if you've never been. About an hour away

We tailgate by the pentagon/Greek theater on the north side of campus. We are always cooking and have football on the tv. Y'all would be more than welcome to stop in.

Here is a thread started by some Aussies coming to BR for a game. I posted links (page 3) to some other Aussies who had posted leading up to a game and their follow up after attending. Might as well start on page three as the Rantards are always the fastest to respond and try to derail a thread.

I don't think they would need any Canadian gear on. All they would have to do is open their mouth. Accent will give it away instantly i would think. JT- Watch the tRant closer to game day. Someone usually posts a game day schedule of events and where it is happening. If you don't see it, just make a new post and i'm sure someone will hook you up.
