Is this a good thing that O will make the final decision on who starts at QB

I personally find it very hard to believe tbh. I think Canada will tell O...then O will tell us.

and if he did what you suggest, you'd say that he was showing favoritism and/or throwing other qb's under the bus

Etling finished rated between 5-7 among 14 SEC QBs depending on the statistical category you are assessing.

Let's pull his stats from last year and compare those to 2013.

Who cares where he finishes among the conference. The conference was full of mediocre QBs last year.

Sure will be glad when the season starts so we talk about things that really happened or were really said, instead of the "what did he really mean" threads.

Not a loaded question . I'm asking do you trust O to make the call if hie and Canada were split on the decision?

This was my response the first time:
quote:

so to answer, yes, I trust the O of today to make the call and stand behind he and his asst's decisions.

And my response this time:
[quote]Since I'm not in the room, I will go on my perception of what is going on. O will meet with Canada and Ensminger, separately, and then meets again as a group. If there is a disagreement, which is highly unlikely, I trust that O makes the call based upon what he gathers from these meeting and practice videos, reps, etc, and proceeds, in whole, confident in his decision. I do trust O to make the "BEST" call at the time, with the information at his disposal.[quote]

So, I ask you to tell me why you do not trust O to make this decision? Please be specific.

Because O himself has admitted he has no business coaching QBs and that is not his specialty. The decision on who should start should be Canada's alone.

Etling is the best all around qb we have right now. You guys are idiots when you say the tf should be starting. Etling is a Sr and a gamer. It has been said by players and coaches alike that he has more velocity on the ball after the surgery, that being the biggest knock against him last year. He played pretty well in all the games last year except bama. A hell of a lot better than Harris. Some of you are honestly pretty stupid.

The shortest and most specific answer I can give you is Ole Miss. I'm sorry but I still have reservations due to a 3-21 record in the SEC or whatever it was when he was in totally in charge of all decisions. Now I might be completely wrong and things might be completely different now but that's my answer.

You are a clown. Get behind him, or gtfo. That ole excuse hope I'm wrong is a joke. Your ego doesn't hope you are wrong. You want to be able to say I told you so, instead of I was a dumbass to bash O daily. No problem saying he failed at OM. Most everyone is aware. The problem is the daily bashing of O just assuming he hasn't improved a great deal. I'm an alum and huge tiger fan, but outside of that I hope he has an incredible career at Lsu just to shut all you arse clowns up. It really is pathetic to be on here repeating the same thing everyday for 8 months. Guys like you, mo jeaux, groupee, Rick, should all be banned.

No chance to learn from mistakes, hire better quality assistants, become a better coach and leader in all those years? Good thing your logic wasn't applied to other coaching hires at LSU, as of late. Seems we had a couple good runs with our previous coaches...

His entire PC was a waste of time. Not that anyone should expect more, but it was all coachspeak. Everyone will just have to wait

I have never bashed O you jack arse. All I've ever said it was a terrible hire on paper which it was and there is no denying that no matter how people like yourself try to spin it. The only people I have bashed are the ones that wanted O strictly for the reason of him being from the bayou, that's a fckn stupid reason to want someone as HC. I do hope he does well , I was thrilled to have O on staff as a DL coach but not as HC and that's totally understandable considering his previous stint.

Honestly they will get together and discuss. My guess is that both will want the same guy. My second guess is that there will be people bashing O no matter who is selected.

You are on here everyday repeating the same thing. Fact. As for this one of us bs, that's a complete joke, made up from the likes of people like you and mo jeaux. I've never once heard anyone say that. Hell, a big part of the fanbase is not even from South Louisiana. I wasn't beating the drums to hire O, but I'll damn sure give him the benefit of the doubt until proven wrong. Many people make mistakes and fail, only to accomplish great things later. Thank God the likes of you and groupee and mo jeaux aren't running major corporations, or even minor ones.

You ever listen to WWL? Did you listen when the decision to hire O had yet to be made? There was caller after caller saying LSU should hire him because he's "one of us". I gave my reason as to why I have reservations about O and it's a completely justifiable reason at that. I'm sorry it upset you.

Doesn't it seem that Canada has given less than a ringing endorsement to any of the QB's when you read his comments? He doesn't criticize any of them really, but the comments are pretty subdued. I'm not suggesting there's any reason to be overly- concerned, but I do find it interesting.

The surprise would be if the OC was very upbeat about the position. What in the world did you expect?

He's out here speaking Cajun French and dropping "Ruston Rifle" references at his dog and pony shows.

10 years ago, he was telling Louisiana kids not to go to LSU. He was cussing at reporters asking him about LSU.

I'm going to have to hold my nose the entire time this assclown is the HC
