Why did O hire him? Seems like a due diligence failure (similar to another coaching search that I remember).

He didn't. Alleva did. Coach O wanted Kiffin, Tee Martin, or Ensminger. This was never going to workout.

Y’all are missing my point. My point is not that he may or may not have meddled. Just that we should’ve won that game no matter how much anyone meddled.

Wait:
Orgeron wanted Kiffen as his OC, and there is concern that CANADA might be an a-hole?

Imagine being a year removed from being named a finalist for the Broyles Award because of your wokr at Pittsburgh. You take the OC job at a top 10 CFB program and within five weeks of being in your position. CEO comes in and wants to "fix" your offensive scheme. Then you lose to Troy and now you have to watch game film on Sunday's with CEO & Alleva.

I'd leave for Rice Univ as well if I was dealt that hand.

I heard that Canada doesn't like crawfish and Orgeron doesn't trust anybody who doesn't like crawfish.

O was at fault when he hired Canada in the first place. A guy who's had a pattern of jumping ships in his coaching career. O got what he's paid for and should be on the look out for another OC to fulfill his binder plan requirements.

"Some players said"

After the MooSU game that some of the players didn't know the plays. Which may have prompted the coaches to alter some play calling. No names were mentioned.

Always easy to cherry pick info and quotes to guide the masses to a false conclusion. Worked in Russia for 80+ years. Seems to be gaining strength in the USA, too.

Canada has been productive everywhere he has been, and he has also been at odds with every coach he's worked under. Don't know the man personally, but maybe he's a really smart guy who comes across as condescending to those who "meddle" with his offense (not just O, but anyone who presumes to advise him).

It's clear from watching the offense develop that he knows what he's doing; the jet sweeps aren't random trick plays, they are intended to exploit a team stacking the box. His scheme worked well, even against Alabama (didn't hit the passes, but they were there. Running lanes were open).

Orgeron is the poster child for "hands off" head coach, to his own admission this season. His stated goal was to bring in good coordinators and let them do their thing. He has no avowed offensive philosophy... doesn't say we need to dominate the game on the ground, attack the secondary, anything (Les was ground and pound).

In theory, the best opportunity for Canada is here. Orgeron should give him time to install his offense, ask what type of players he needs (since O is the recruiter supreme, that should be up his alley), and let him do his thing.
O should also bring Canada and Aranda together to figure out what systems they run that would complement the most. After that, it's time to back away and let the guys cook.

I think O just got concerned about low production and high penalty counts, but that was 5 games into year one of the system. If the players have discipline, that will go away as they are immersed.

what a joke.

what a fabrication.

kiffin wasn't available and most assuredly would have left as soon as he could land a HC job. he landed one before coming on board.
