truly believe that, had 2024 LSU played 2024 ND's schedule, LSU would have been 11-1 or even 12-0 and been in the CFP.

Well, LSU and ND played two of the same teams.

LSU went 0-2 and ND went 2-0 in those games.

LSU also lost to a bad Florida team.

BK has been underwhelming and fell flat this year. Meanwhile, ND has played a disciplined and physical brand of football. I’m not sure why some people on here refuse to acknowledge this.

If Kelly was as aggressive as freeman maybe lsu wouldn’t have been in the Texas bowl

Not exactly in the same place. ND hasn’t won a New Year’s Six game since 1994, beat six ranked teams this year, and beat the SEC champ (with the backup that beat Texas and played well).

And there’s a big difference in team speed and swagger that just wasn’t there before.

Kelly is good at getting teams to 9-10 wins, but that’s it. That’s better than Ogeron trash fire, but he’s not going work hard or innovate enough to get a championship.

They have a better defensive roster and a duel threat QB. That’s the difference between them and us. One coach had it quite a bit easier when he was hired.

Kenny Dillingham took over a trash ASU team and came within a play of beating Texas in the playoffs in his second year. And he did it without LSU’s resources or recruiting footprint/pull.

240 yards of offense and 90 yards of passing - one of lowest, if not lowest, total yards in a playoff game. LOL

Now No. 3 Strength of Record (the CFP committee’s favorite stat) and up to 31 Strength of Schedule.

two lucky plays

A kick return for a touchdown is not lucky. It means the return team blocked the other team well, and the kick returner outran everybody.
A strip sack was not lucky. The O-tackle got his arse beat and the QB did not protect the ball.

Legit question. Doesn't ND have lots and lots of money?

And next year there will be a team that will come in like Arizona State who will beat or surprise and you will say that that coach and that program are an example of someone who does a better job than Kelly. But rather than come up with this lame crap about Notre Dame or Arizona State or whoever, save yourself from dumb argument and just say you don’t like Kelly. It’s ok. Because most folks like what he is doing in this program and hope he finds the success we believe he is capable of.

Except in at least one stupefying loss per year where they play like a sun belt team.

Strong playing calling? Lol They threw for 90 yards. How many points did the offense score against a Georgia defense that was always on the field ?

ND was more physical at the point of attack. That was plain as day to see for anyone who pays attention to line play. They probably out-rushed Georgia by 100 yards. They basically out-bullied the bully.

For the record. Bryan Kelly rebuilt Notre Dame football. He also took them to a National Championship in 2012. Yes he lost the game but he still went to one. His team was also in the discussion for the playoffs in 21 when he left to come here.
So Marcus Freemen took over a damn strong program built by Kelly while Kelly came to LSU take over and rebuild LSU with back to back losing season and a depleted roster.

I sort of agree with the OP although they did demolish most of the teams they beat. They’ve definitely had the easiest path thus far. Penn State is a solid team playing really disciplined football right now. My guy tells me Penn State is going to have their way with ND.
