Mascona said we are second to last in nil basketball money on radio yesterday. He also said we are behind the uppers by a lot.

There are basketball posters on this board (Alt, etc.) who know more/I trust opinions more than Moscona.

The official SEC standings are wrong and your dumbass is right because you soooooooo want to say CoachMc finished in the top half of the SEC. The absolute delusion is truly astounding.

When 2 team tie they can't both be on the same line. They had the same fricking record and each beat the other. The seeding is reliant on so many factors , most of which don't involve the tied teams performance.

If there are 14 teams in a conference, 8 teams can’t finish in the top half and 6 teams finish in the bottom half. You’re a dimwit.

And you are still ignoring the official SEC Standings. You know the ones created and published by the SEC, not some delusional TD poster that needs at all costs to say CoachMc finished in the top half of the SEC and take a victory lap. Hilarious.

so how do we actually "know" where we stand compared to the rest of the SEC teams.....

You don't. You also don't know how much any specific player has made on any specific deal in the history of NIL. You may think you know, but unless you were the player, the agent, or the funding party, you do not know.

The entire thing, every cent of it, is pure speculation and hearsay.

If there are 14 teams in a conference, 8 teams can’t finish in tSp I will state only 6 SEC teams he top half and 6 teams finish in the bottom half.
So I will say only 6 of 14 SEC teams won more conference games than LSU in 2024.

But i doubt we're getting lapped by Vandy, who turned it around in an offseason.

Why do you doubt that? Vandy has extraordinarily rich alumnae, and they only have baseball and basketball to spend it on.

My first thought upon hearing this is that....doesn 't the coach have any responsibility or at least ability to affect that?

I have no idea Mascona is getting the info from, may be a pro-McMan source? May not be?

But ultimately so what - do you think if Pearl or Oates were lagging behind in NIL funding they would sit still and just accept it? Heck for that matter our former coach I could guarantee you he would not, and you can hate that or hate that I'm bringing him up again, but you know in this case what I've said is correct.

So, what I'm seeing is it's lining up to where CMM gets another year and there will be some concerted effort to increase funding to help him buy better players and see what that does. The question is that if CMM is choosing the players to buy, I'm not sure evaluation and roster construction have proven to be his strong suit?

And even if we are it's not liked the haul Vandy got was very well thought of - it was not...neither their recruiting class or portal class was rated highly at all by any metric. But what they did better than we did is exceed projections, and create a roster that complimented each other and create a system that maximized what they had.
