No need for spell check on the Rant. The grammar police have me covered.

Oh Jesus Christ.

You just watched a team bat .200 win a college World Series and you want to bring back gorilla ball? Then you will complain when lsu is hitting fly ball after fly ball in that ballpark. What people don't realize is that the new Alex Box is not a hitter friendly park. It plays pretty big. One of the biggest in the SEC. Gorilla ball doesn't work anymore. If you need to see home runs hit to enjoy the game of baseball then you are going to be disappointed.

That's only one player. We have fielded teams with much more power.

If Paul likes small ball so much how come getting a bunt down is so difficult and we don't bunt in bunting situations?

That's the question I have as well.

Gorilla ball was fricking garbage. The only reason we look fondly back on it was because it happened to be the most dominant era of LSU baseball.

If PM likes small ball-- he certainly does not know how to teach the very basics -- which is the bunt.

I think eddy furniss still has a year of eligibility left!

I know the west coast teams still had their style in this era too... I remember Stanford, USC, Fullerton, always had stud pitchers.

Garbage???? Geez! So you prefer dominant pitching, bunting, and small ball huh. All this does is allow more parity in the game and I hate it. Bring back the old bats, so much more exciting. A fricking team with a .200 batting average just won the National Championship!!! That should never happen!

Removing excitement from a sport is always a negative in my eyes.

He's kind of right, it was out of hand with the drop 5 bats, but small ball and bunting is garbage as well. The bats just before BBCOR were fine.

I loved gorilla ball. Bottom of the order guys hitting bombs oppo, oh yea, I loved it. PING! In regards to todays college baseball atmosphere. I'm shocked at the number of .200 hitters in college not only getting drafted but getting drafted high.

LSU finished witha .289 avg
UF finished with a .259 avg
Roughly 1.3 hits per game more than UF.
Not really that much different honestly.
Baseball is more than HR's.
Go watch adult softball if all you want is HR's.
Sully changed UF's philosophy after being unable to hit bombs on Omaha. Pitching, defense and applying pressure to the other teams D are now his keys to winning. His planned was executed perfectly.
Gorilla ball sucked....games were 4-5hours 17-13. It wasnt baseball

The first specifications to metal bats were the BESR bats that you saw from 2000-2011. I personally don't think anything was wrong with those bats. You still saw a lot of bombs but not an absurd video game amount. There was no reason to go to bbcor.
The training programs of today are infinitely better then 20-30 years ago. I won't get into the whole steroids thing but go look at what TCU and Virginia and Vanderbilt are doing with their training programs. TCU was maxing out on squats while in Omaha.
Gorilla ball as we know it is gone forever. Bats are weaker, players are more dynamic (not just power guys who can't run and field) the pitching is much much better. (Back in the 90s you would see a lot of 86 mph fastball right down the middle)

You need 225lb. players not 170lb. players.
