Every team gives up long third down conversions now and then. LSU has been much better than most the last few years. This year we have a very poor dline. We get no pressure, so it's a lot easier for QBs to convert.

Predictability. As that anonymous coach said over the summer "Chavis does what he does and he does it all the time".

Absolutely. The LSU front four does not put any pressure on the QB. There were at least 3, 3rd and nines against OleMiss and everytime no pressure. That's why Alabama beat Ole Miss. When it was 3rd and long against bama, the Ole Miss QB went down in 2.5 seconds. Period.

quote:

Ole miss has two WR to one side. WE have a LB "lined" up on the WR - but he's lined up five yards inside of him. WE have a CB lined up five yards off of the outside WR. The Safety is 12-15 yards back (i.e. already way beyond the first down). The outside WR runs a deep deep, bringing CB deeper. The inside WR runs an out right at the first down marker.

Then on the plays we took it away Wallace scrambled for the first. It was frustrating because Ole Miss didn't really run that many different plays. And it's not like we didn't adjust to them, the D just couldn't make a play when needed.
