IF everyone will just chalk this year up to a rebuilding year it will be ok. WE do not have a starting five competitive with top 25 teams- we do not have the size not strength inside, we do not have consistent guard play or consistent shooting. Keep in in mind this is the same team as last year except Taz is back. Just because we have a new coach does not mean instant success- it may take a couple of years. PATIENCE

Well, in the Northwest the Washington State program is well known for having a lead and completely choking in the worst way to lose it. Well, people started saying, they coug'd it. So now it is a term used quite often in the Northwest that is basically a new way of saying you choked. Huskies fans love using it but even Cougar fans use it when they lose.

I can stomach a L...just not a horrible one. We sort of need to win this and the Xavier game.

I just hope WSU doesn't make us look like fools the way UW did when we played them. I hope Applebee doesn't have a brother that plays for WSU.

Well in hoops you don't have to be in the top-25 to make the tourney or even win a game in the tourney. You pretty much just have to be among the Top-40 and I do think our starting 5 puts us there.

Now any injuries and that's out the window.

Also keep in mind Chris Johnson missed the first 6 SEC games. We were 5-5 in the SEC after his return. The SEC is not as good as last year, specifically the West and while Randolph is a more skilled and talented player, Taz's overall game, team play and consistent effort IMHO makes the team better than with Randolph.

Next year will require lots of patience as we lose some good and experienced players. But this year we very well could win the SEC West and it will be hard to keep us out of the dance if we do.

Let me correct myself. We were 6-4 in conference after CJ's return from injury.

THIS is certainly the year to make a run. NOT next year. It is very understandable that TJ will have to continue to clean up Brady's mess, but should bring in another exciting recruiting class to go with Warren, Tas (?), Spencer, and co.

Yeah, we lose a lot after this year and we don't have a lot to replace it with.

Our defense in the paint needs to improve drastically.

Too bad Johnson already has to sit down/out the undisciplined dogs that Brady brought into the program when they couldn't hack if elsewhere. Let's hope Trent doesn't go after undesired second helpings and just recruits quality guys.

I disagree. We need another consistent scoring threat on this team, and Taz does not provide that at this point. He is overmatched in the post by average power forwards. At least Randolph could score consistently down low.

I thought Randolph was overmatched by average power forwards last year as well. Heck, Ross Neltner had a career day with Randolph guarding him.

I think at the end of the year you'll see Taz's numbers comparable to Randolph's last year, plus I don't think you can quantify his leadership.

Randolph was/is no doubt more talented, but to use a football term he didn't have a good motor. Taz's motor is always running and he doesn't have to be motivated it comes from within.

I always liked Ross. My Dad's favorite player.

Just making a point.
