Well, it won't grow organically if the return is being used to pay players and investors. You do understand that, correct?
What I understand that you clearly don’t is that this isn’t meant to pay players. It’s meant to help the NIL collective donors cover their expenses.
See, there you go again. Trying to change the subject.

First, let's deal with your change of subject. You do understand that the fund won't grow organically if the return is being used to [help the NIL collective donors cover their expenses] and pay investors. You do understand that, correct?

Second, you say that the fund "isn’t meant to pay players. It’s meant to help the NIL collective donors cover their expenses." What exactly do you think the expenses of the NIL collective donors are?

Third, if the investment fund is "meant to help the NIL collective donors cover their expenses" then what you're really saying is that the investor's money will be used to pay the donors. Does that make sense to you?

I don’t need you to keep repeating that you don’t understand the difference between donations and investments.

LSU Athletics doesn’t make a profit. How would an investor get a return in his dollars? Are there expectations of future profits?

To do so you would need to cut spending and/or increase revenues. You would also have to make better management decisions.

Sorry samsonite.
Look at you. What a clever and insightful response. Full of rational analysis of the facts.

If this is the route they’re going they will want the donors to become investors. That’s the entire point.

The other option is for TAF to give up its Non-Profit status and be the majority stake holder, supporting the collective and reinvesting what is left over.

For this discussion, we’re talking about the former and the entire dumbass OP you created was about boosters buying stake in LSU.

I like this idea, but what if we sold more branding at the stadium and surrounding area? There is already branding on the 25 yardline and sponsors. Im sure if we sold more advertising slots, maybe even on merchandise. Like a Coca-Cola LSU exclusive collectibles. Or something along those lines to make a dent.

They’re just happy that I’m smarter than Samsung of TD. It’s a low bar, a very low one, but we have to start somewhere.

Hence the reason I’ve said, from the beginning, that selling stake in the LSU AD is a terrible idea. I’ve said doing it with boosters and donors would be better than an outside PE firm, but that’s like saying cutting off your big toe is better than the whole foot. Neither is a win.

The OP, spectrum, is the one pitching this as a good idea because he believes they won’t care that their investment isn’t turning a profit.

Maybe it's the cynic in me, but I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop on this deal. It sounds like one of those "too good to be true" situations. $100 million appears out of nowhere, it gets "invested in businesses", then magically a profit appears and the only one who gets something substantial out of it is LSU athletics? AND LSU maintains full control of every part of it?

Also doesn't help that the biggest champion in the media is the guy who touted such things as Gamecoin or whatever it was called.

You can't do it can you. You can't answer a simple question.

You have to keep changing the subject and talking in circles.

Nope. You cannot do it.

Of course not, because that’s not what I’m saying.

It will only cover the investments of those who have purchased stake in the LLC. The donors would have to become investors.

Man, you really struggle to keep up.

You’re asking stupid questions. I’m really trying to help you get there, you’re just too thick to manage it.

I've never even mentioned about bringing in an an outside PE firm. I've explained that repeatedly to you.

You talk about "selling stake in the LSU AD" and then you say, "I’ve said doing it with boosters and donors would be better." But you repeatedly say that I don't know the difference between donors and investors when I say it. GFY.

That's not what I said. That is only what you keep saying. You're the one who constantly bitches that all ventures are evil and will ultimately destroy LSU athletics. All I said is that the venture will have no operational control, including AD staffs, coaching staffs, and student-athletes.

There is ZERO reason to expect that a Boosters venture would do something different than what LSU is doing to maximize profits without killing the goose that lays the golden egg.

I said more than that, and you don’t know the difference. You’ve made that clear.

I haven’t said anything about all ventures being evil. I’ve said LSU partnering with PE would be a disaster because LSU won’t be able to pay them back, which would result in cuts to get the profits up.

You really haven’t been able to wrap your little nugget around anything I’ve said.
