WTF ... since 2002, Nutt has had TWO classes in the top 20 according to Scout, both with OM
ugh, and where were those two classes? OM.What does his classes at arky have to do with OM. Noone can recruit there. Hell Mullen out recruited Petrino. Imagine what he could do at LSU, and that was what I responding to.
and i get your point that hes only done it the past two years and not every year, but I only followed his recruiting at ole miss and every year at ole miss he finishes strong with about 10 signees on signing day. So no need to worry about OM's '11 class. We will have an amazing receiving corps signing and should have another top 25 class

The worst LSU loss ever against Nutt was Saban's 02 melt down.
That was as fluky as it gets.

I'd rather Miles on the LSU sidelines anyday. LSU wins in '10 on their way to another SEC West title.
Of course, you would rather have a coach who loses to the same guy 3 times in a row.

i dislike nutt but he gets a lot out of less talent than anybody. he seems to prepare well and is good at making adjustments during a game. but he's a scumbag.

I'd rather have a coach that knows how to get to Atlanta and BCS bowls and win.

Nutt has Lesticles. He is also a motivator but beyond that will always be average. He has LSU's number of late, though.

Your right, we are going to Atlanta to play UNC. What an accomplishment.

Nutt is a good coach -- not a great one, but a good one. He would be a definite upgrade over Miles. Saban recommended him for the job in '05, and I wish we would have gone in that direction. At least he knows when the clock starts and stops, which automatically makes him better than Miles.
Miles is credited as a strong recruiter, but is he really that strong? Louisiana traditionally produces a tremendous amount of football talent, and LSU has no real in state threat to that talent. The only real threat comes from out of state poachers. So, how hard is it really to recruit at LSU? This is what made the job so attractive to Saban. Lock down the state and you are pretty much guaranteed a Top 15 class. Pick up a couple studs from Texas, Florida and the like and presto .... you've got a Top 5 class every year.
At the end of the day, I think Nutt has owned Miles, because he is simply a better coach. I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Hopefully this year we'll bust a Nutt.
Wait for it...
ok, yea. It's not that funny.

then we wouldn't have an '07 NC...i can guarantee that.

How many coaches prior to Miles consistently had top 10 recruiting classes? One. If it's so easy why couldn't all those other guys do it?
Some of you will say absolutely anything to discredit Miles and refuse to give him even the slightes bit of praise. Why is that?

so, Nutt is 3-2 vs Miles. One win in OT with 2 incredible running backs and and the other 2 in the worst 2 years of our decade.
Also, Miles ruined Nutt's one chance of a NC in 06 and snapped their 10 game winning streak and it was the Hogs first loss in Little Rock under Nutt (negating all those ugly undefeated in the rock shirts)
that being said, if Ole Miss can beat LSU this year then I will definitely say he is better than Miles.

Nutt would not have won national title in 2007 at lsu - he would have lost at least 4 games at lsu

I would guess that location and facilities have had a lot to do with Miles success.
Saban, in addition to leaving Miles with the best talent in the history of the university, also built him some great facilities.

Do you remember the great McNutt?

I respectfully disagree. Yes, that loss in '02 was a knife in the back because of how it ended, but '07 was much worse. That '02 team was a decent QB away from being really good

give him a few years to ruin a program. he coaches well with other coaches talent. then he will ruin it.
So let him hang himself!
