Well 2008 was a rebuild for us then. So was last year with a new QB.

Well if you consider coming off a championship season a rebuilding year...then Saban has beaten Miles in quite a few rebuilding years....

Advantage back to Saban

When has LSU beaten Bama with a worse defense than this year? Never. The worst Defense he had prior was 08 and what happend. They lost.

Andrew Hatch as our starting QB? Yea, I'd say so.

You're the dumbass making excuses for losses for Saban, I just wanted to try out your stupid logic.

The only stat that matters is 3-4, a whole one game from being evenly split (and the extra game obviously being the difference). Pretty sure Les can coach with Nick.

And who's fault is that? The guy who recruited like a retard.

Saban seemed to do just fine with a freshman AJ.

Who recruited him? Who kept him on the team 1.5 years too long and failed to adequately prepare another QB?

Saban?

Yes we can. It is the Game of our Season. That being said. The reason for most apathy right now, is from loosing to a team in their Game of the Season. Against their second string D. If playing inspired tackle football, then Yes LSU will win.

Just so I have this right, Saban gets a pass for rebuilding when he loses to Les, but Les is accountable for everything?

Now would be a good time for you to conveniently disappear like you have a habit of doing.

i believe we were in a bind at the qb position since RP had been kicked off the team. still no excuse for a capable backup. although at the time we all thought that would be JL.

Sure. I don't think our D playing their best is going to slow UA too much. Mett and the skill guys are going to have to find 2 more gears and do this for almost every possession. We'll see.

Saban rebuilding in 2007 at BAMA after kicking several players off the team in his first year

DOES NOT EQUAL

Miles coaching a program coming off a championship season. The issues we had in 2008 WERE PREVENTABLE BY MILES HIMSELF.

1. Miles recruits a tard and keeps him on the team WAY too long failing to develop another QB
2. Miles hires his BBQ buddies to coach the defense.

Well I guess that makes Saban an even bigger loser for splitting games with such a terrible coach the last 6 years. I'm amazed every day you find a way to out-stupid the stuff you posted the previous day. It is a special talent.

Right the guy who recruited Ryan Perriloux was a retard. Don't think I've heard you call Saban a retard before.

Anyway, I had high hopes for Hatch, figured he was the smartest QB ever to play at LSU (having been accepted to Harvard and all). Then having the 2 freshmen thrust into playing time they weren't expecting killed Lee's confidence and probably cause JJ to rely on his athleticism more than he should have and probably inhibitted his development as well. Hard to unlearn bad habits.

Of course that's just my take, flawed though it may be.

Back to the question, LSU absolutely can beat the Gumps. The defensive talent is actually very good, they just don't seem to play disciplined ball or even always understand their assigments. I attribute that primarily to playing time and youth, generally. Of course, it's hard to have really high expectations given the spotty play, of late, on both sides of the ball.

ETA: Hatch was knocked out due to a concussion and never saw playing time again, if I recall.

Of course they CAN beat 'Bama. Since LSU is out of contention for national title consideration I fully expect them to play to win vs. playing NOT to lose as has been the case recently. Ole Miss went from it's own 15 yard line down the field w passing b/c they had nothing to lose. Props to them. They are a quality team. I just hope LSU learns from that game and does the same thing - beginning with 1st qtr. We're not used to being out of contention still in October but that's the way it is. Maybe we can ruin Alabama's season since they've done us in the past 2 years. It would make our season and probably every college football fan in America not a 'Bama homer!

How did we ever Saban at Bama 3 times with Les as coach? You guys are so frickingstupid.

I remember back in '11 when some media talking heads were even saying Les might be the only coach in the country to possibly have Saban's number.

ABSOLUTELY.

2008 - Freshman Jarrett Lee-led LSU, complete with Malveto defense, takes Bama to overtime

2009 - Despite LSU's putrid offense, they are one Gump replay official away from the opportunity to go on a game-tying drive late in the 4th.

2010 - We beat them with JJ at the helm. 'Nuff said

2011 - Miles outcoaches Saban (he absolutely did)in and epic defensive struggle

*Mulligans don't count

2012 - LSU outplays Bama, but this time Miles coaches himself out of a win
