but if it happens a lot, then maybe it's a point that LSU needs to look at??
I dunno, what do you suggest?
I would suggest that we keep this to one stickied thread at the top. If you haven't been checking the rant recently then you wouldn't know that there are 3
"Hawthorne sucks" threads after every single athletic event. With baseball and basketball games happening at the same time there are 4 or 5 threads a week about this.
I realize Hawthorne gets down about the team sucking or misses some names, but it's starting to get on the ridiculous level.

charles is really good at baseball .. with that being said, i just don't think he could do football or basketball ... both are just too fast for him and his voice cracks badly when he speeds up and tries to put emotion in it ... his style is perfect for baseball .... LSU needs to get with the 21st century anyway and have multiple PBP guys specializing in individual sports like other schools do ... the one man does all three system is very antiquated ...
This sounds like a good idea. I still love Hawthorne on football and basketball. Charles could do baseball fine. I enjoyed his pbp last night.

i think hawthorne may be a little overworked...

LSU doesn't have to pay hawthorne a lot of money because he doesn't have a college degree ..
You could not be further from the truth. He graduated from Northwestern State in 1967. Know what you are talking about before you try to go off.

i don't understand why some of you hate hawthorne...turn on some of the other play by play announcers from bama, florida, ole miss...jesus, it sounds like a couple of red necks trying to talk sports

i've always said LSU needs to go to 3 different people for 3 sports and leave patrick wright on women's hoops .. believe it or not, when hawthorne first started when i was a kid, he was a major market quality in hoops .. i mean one of the best i have ever heard in my life .. seriously .. he's just gotten old, blind, and burned out and he has to fight kevin ford's pseudo color analyst bullshite .. ford's just as big of a problem as jim is in hoops ...
football needs another john ferguson ..

yeah, he does a good job with women's hoops .. he should specialize in women's sports .. but, the problem is that LSU wouldn't wanna pay all these people ..

you cant have an Alma Mater unless you graduated. It does say this in his bio.
Alma Mater: Northwestern State(1967)
Also, during the Northwestern Game early in the year he was the Guest Captain bringing the ball to center court because he was an Alumni of Northwestern.
He certainly has a college degree.

you need to look up the definition of the terms "alma mater" and "alumni" ... a school can be your alma mater and you can be an alumni if you WENT to the school .. that is not a term that strictly conotates that one graduated from the school ... hawthorne didn't finish school ..

once again, show me a link ..
eta: and in a bio, when one graduates usually you will see -- such such graduated from mississippi state in 1968 -- or something to that effect .. you would see bachelor of art or science or whatever specified ..
