Hmmm the program that comes to mind when I saw this thread was Nebraska for some reason during the years after Osborne left.
People expected to continue to see that kind of championship level team EVERY year. Even Osborne didnt have a championship level team every year.

Yes, this is my exact point. When expectations are not realistic and those expectations are not met then fans are ready to see changes made and in many cases the changes might not be for the best.

Yeah, I think a fan base can become so obnoxious that it hurts recruiting -- keep in mind, most of our recruits read this web-site --- do you want to play for the large number of assholes who want the coach fired for being #4 in the country?
