I thought we did good against a talented defense. We have got to throw with success in the middle of the field; something we have not done in years.

ah, the mantra.

did you see the game? we were running the shite out of the ball and we still were passing. you need to read the thread on here giving each play in the second half.

you will see that the garbage you are spewing is simply not true.

Cameron has to come up with a series of plays that incorporates both Fournette and Guice in the game at the same time. :jump1: :jump1:
Then he can have my praise.

I think it's clear the coaches still didn't trust Harris against UW and tried to coach around him, hoping he'd just survive enough to get to more practice time. It backfired, but it is what it is. For now--can't believe I'm saying it--I'm happy with the LSU offense.

Yeah.

You guys need to make up your damn minds on whether it is Miles or Cam doing the play calling.

Agreed, these coaches see the QBs every day in practice. It's pretty apparent that Harris could handle or wasn't comfortable with this play style. Great guy, but like Jennings, sometimes it just doesn't work out.

From what I saw, there were plays in there that Harris didn't get. The scramble/roll out plays, that shovel pass....That variation/variety of plays was what we needed

Wrong, or at least unknown. Harris got passing plays called, he just did not pick the open receiver and/or get it to him.

I'd be curious to look at past Harris plays, to see where the TE or backs are (Etling actually looks for these guys).

Etling has sustained drives, which means he has gotten more plays during a drive than Harris. If Harris had made some completions, he also would have gotten more plays that series.

"That shovel pass" wasn't a called play. It was a pass, Etling was under some duress, and instead of scrambling, getting sacked or throwing it randomly up, he saw the pressure relief target, and found a way to get the ball out to him. It was a good improvisational play.

Then he can have my praise.

So some folks are calling for more WRs on the field, and now we get people who want more RBs.

You can only have so many players on the field. I get that Guice is a good receiver as a back, but I'd prefer Chark's speed as the 3rd WR. I'd prefer Moore as Fournette's potential blocker. I'll take our tight end as the guy trying to stretch the linebacker some (bigger target).

Let Guice come in and spell Fournette for a few plays, like he did last night. Increase that some, if you like. But sticking him out there with Fournette only limits the offense. He's not the blocker you need for Fournette on a run, and the defense seems to sniff out that you are trying to force the screen or jetsweep to Guice.

If LF doesn't fumble we cruise against MSU last night. Can't blame les on that, the best rb we ever had fumbled us winning comfortably.

I could be wrong, but I seem to remember seeing Cam with no headset and arms folded the second half.

It was better but by no means great. Too cute with the 3 or 4 reverses and half back and wr passes. Too many long bombs wich are low percentage.

Ettinger isn't that accurate on the longer passes. Would rather see more short and intermediate throwing.
