As far as I know they only do it twice--during pregame warmups when only the student section is full-like it's just for them and the team-and then at the start of the 4th.

I agree. I'm old enough to remember a time before piped-in music, when the band played lots of tunes. When they weren't playing, you only heard the roar of the crowd and the PA announcer. Your ears weren't constantly assaulted by crappy rap. Ah, the good old days.
