First generation Cajun here.
Don't care one way or another. Just looking forward to something different now. Was I upset LSU hired CEO? Yes, I can admit that. But that's what LSU did. I was hoping CEO would stay on in another role.
But now he's the coach, and like Les, I'll root for him until his product becomes unwatchable.....IF that happens.

I want a coach that wants to be here and there was no better guy for the job IMO
Wish people would stop saying this. Lots of coaches would've loved to be at LSU and didn't even get a phone call. What about them?

It's nuts to ignore what coach O did in his two most successful stints as HC then apply his most unsuccessful stint especially knowing that the negative stint was much longer ago then the last two positive stints.
It's also nuts to give less weight to the much larger sample size of work.

You want me to name about 100+ coaches?
"Wanting to be here" is not a qualification that is exclusive to O and it's not something that should seal the deal.
You think Margot Robbie is just looking for someone that wants to date her? Wanting to date her is a given. LSU was the pretty girl and Alleva's acted like we were ugly.

Can u explain what comedy u speaking of? I'm from Larose, LA born and raised and damn proud of it!! I lived in BR for four years as a student. And yes, came back home with a degree in hand. I wouldn't move back to BR or any other similar city for that matter. I love BR, if we talking about a place to go to school or watch a football game. If we're talking a place to have a family and raise kids, in my opinion there is no comparison. This is nothing against the people that live in BR, so don't get your panties in a wad, it's just a different environment all around. Again, can u explain the comedy part. I think the only ones laughing when Coach O leads us to the ship is the real LSU fans that support him and his football team. GEAUX TIGERS
or are you serious?

Well, considering what he did in his 7-game "audition," I think there is cause for hope.
All 5 of his victories were absolute routs.
The loss to Florida was a fluke. O didn't run the wrong way on the last play.
He coached toe-to-toe with the so-called best coach in the country for 3 quarters. And he only lost because of the officiating.
And he did all this out of the blue with no preparation on being named head coach in the early part of the season, having to name his staff hurriedly and changing offensive philosophies on the fly.
I think he deserves a chance.

Yes.
Because the Bama O-lineman clotheslining the LSU D-lineman on Hurt's TD run was completely legal.
The Intentional Grounding out of the end zone was completely legal.
The Bama fumble quick whistle was completely legal.
The 2 late hits out of bounds by bama not called were completely legal.
The LSU hit IN BOUNDS called a late hit was completely legal.
The THREE Alabama penalties on one play called 'offsetting' were completely legal.
Gotcha........

Da Coach O was not given an "audition". although his public relations effort treated it as such.
O was made interim HC because the HC was fired less than halfway thru the season, a highly unusual circumstance.
O was deemed to be the best qualified person currently on the coaching staff for this interim position, no more, no less.
once in that position, he seemed to use it to campaign for the position of HC. Whether O did any better than his predecessor would have with the teams left on the schedule is still up for debate.
That no other major school was seeking to hire O as HC is not...

None of that explains why LSU didn't approach Bama's red zone. So even excluding all of that, how were we close to winning that game?
Moral victories are part of the subtle lowering of expectations for this program.

You don't know how many coaches were called nor do you know how many out there want to be at LSU. Certainly the top two weren't interested in being at LSU. You also don't know how many of those coaches who were just burning to come to LSU are actually capable of taking over a 100+ million dollar program like ours and not get overwhelmed on day 1, not to mention hanging on to a top recruiting class at the same time.

Unfortunately, we don't know anything about the "search", including whether a bona fide search actually took place.
This is one of the problems with confidence in the result. There are others, of course.

We never got closer than the 32 yard line from scoring on Bama.
That is utterly pathetic with the program LSU has.

Ah, argument from ignorance. I'm disqualified from speculating about Alleva's apparent botched coaching search because I didn't actually see the list of coaches he supposedly considered. Splendid.
