Yea, I just dont like when people say players need to do this and that or this conduct is inappropriate, Byrd is one of Lee's biggest supporters, he has told media members that Lee is the future of the program and for no one to worry. He isnt saying JLee is gonna throw 8 pics out of angst, he is a clown and everybody knows that.

Yeah..but to the common person that doesn't know Byrd, it comes off as quite the opposite.

What about all the people that say some pretty awful things about Lee on this message board. Is that acceptable to you?

No not really, I think its all uncalled for unless the kid is getting in fights, selling drugs, carrying guns, etc.

Now the coaches are completely different.

That is really funny! I read about 5 posts after the title and just responded to the thread. People on here take things way too seriously. He was asked about the psyche of Lee and he responded with humor to keep it light.Everyone knows the guy is struggling so a little light hearted humor helps us all.

Glad I wasn't the only one who took it with a grain of salt and thought it was funny as hell.

D Byrd is the man and has been a great Tiger. He'll be a good pro too.

Really funny? Degrading a teammate to make a joke is funny?

couldnt he just race a bike or do some stupid rap with Keiland Williams if he wanted you chodes to think he was funny? You dont have to degrade a FR QB to get a "laugh".

Byrd could shite on your mom's face and ya'll would laugh. Dude needs to shut up and catch footballs then graduate and get out of here.

I'm with LE on this one. Joke or no joke, some things are better left unsaid.

Why the hostility man?
Like I said everyone including Lee knows he is struggling.Having said that I feel that the statement shows the lack of confidence the wrs have in Lee.It sucks for everyone but it's still true.

At this point, the WRs as a whole have been crap this year. They have atleast 5 dropped passes a game. And, people can blame it on throws behind receivers, too hard of thrown balls, etc... But, these guys have played like crap from the first game and continuing through the entire season.

I, for one, can't wait for both Byrd and Lafell to be gone. And, you can take the Mitchell's with them. I'd much rather have Tolliver and whatever high school players we can bring in as our starting WRs than a bunch of junior and senior WRs who:
1. Think they are better than they are.
2. Think it is funny to criticize teammates.
3. Don't give their all during the season.
4. Hold grudges against players for making mistakes.
5. Suck at the only thing they are supposed to do: Catch the dang ball!

Our WRs have been a joke and I'd rather have less experienced WRs with less potential who are team players, try hard, don't hold grudges against certain players, and can actually catch the ball.

It's prob two fold.

I dont see Lee making fun of Byrd because all he can run is a "go" route.

As for the quote, I'm sure it was meant completely as a joke. Byrd's status as a great teammate has never been called into question.

the fact that Byrd would make this comment, called his teammate status into question. That, and him only knowing one route after 3 years.
