But he's not an elite head coach. Not even close, and that has been proven.

Define “elite”.

Not saying he will, but Miles to Kansas looks a lot like Spurrior to S. Carolina in many ways.

If he has that level of success at Kansas it will be a triumpth.

There you go, changing the dynamics of the argument to suit your purposes.
The thought process expressed here by the antit miles crowd was that Miles wouldn’t coach football again and if he was, it wouldn’t be by a power five program. It looks like he might be hired by power five program. So, things have to be changed to, this is a bad power five program that no other coach wanted. It really is amusing to watch the mental, gymnastic lhoops some are willing
to jump through to continue pushing their agenda.

Elite or not, he is the most productive football coach in LSU history. Some of his achievements while at LSU have never been seen before and might never be seen again.

Finding ways to belittle his achievements for LSU does not speak well for those who persist in doing it. imo

The Nick and Les time here are some of the very most successful LSU football we have ever know. How hard is it to just say thanks and good luck without finding a way to continue pissing on a guy?

Kansas doesn't need a whole lot more talent than they already have to compete in the shitty Big 12. Les will probably do pretty well, much like he did at Ok St.

He hired Greg Studrawa. Which was the main reason LSU's offense didn't score a TD against Sabama in 2011 and didn't score anything against them in the 2012 NC game.

Be fair about this. Studrawa was on staff when the OC he hired, Kragthorpe, was diagnosed with Parkinsons' Disease. Now, should he have stuck with Studrawa? That is the question. We ALL wanted better offenses, but to out and dump a guy who got you to the national title game????? Come on. That is as much on Les Miles as it is Greg Studrawa, and IF Coach Miles, like many said for Orgeron, can leave his OC alone....he will do well.

But he did not go out and hire G.S. to be the O.C. he only promoted him because there was need.

I love Les. But Kansas football is literally nobody.

+1
THIS
Concur
HARRUMPH.

Two national championships and a third berth in the title game, being duked out by the two coaches who brought LSU to the heights.

There were frustrations, but these are the boiled-down facts. Les was scary risky, entertaining, and in the end, could not keep from overriding his O.C.

Sad, it is, that he ended his time at LSU, but he is stubborn, and sometimes it is good to be so. At others, well, he let it be his demise or he could still be at LSU much to the chagrin of so many on this board who decided for no good reason that they would despise him for wearing the wrong headset at his first home game, for having the temerity to ask where his wife was seated, and to be excited going into the locker room that first halftime in Tiger Stadium.

How DARE he be excited about that after all that team went through in August and September of 2005.

Godspeed Coach Miles, your successes were most enjoyable which made your failures exasperating. Tear up the Big 12 big guy.
