But some observers of the game look FAR past these 5th-grade level rudimentary "statistics".

He wont be drafted higher than Fromm or Tua and his ceiling is much lower than both at the pro level.
Great post, but don't sell Joe short at the pro level. He's more of a Brady/Montana type than a Big Gunner type.

I wonder if he’ll mention the fact that Tua was playing for his 2nd offensive coordinator in 2 years last year and one of his best receivers was a true freshman or that he was hobbled much of the 2nd half of the season.

Burrow is a top-5 QB in the country. Even the brain-dead sports media is beginning to figure that out.

I love Burrow and I am damn glad he is our quarterback. However, what have you seen to make this statement? Especially at this point, if the offense has truly changed and Burrow can showcase his arm like we hope, then you can say this.

The media is beginning to stick their nose in the tent.

Someone posted a piece on Burrow's last 4 games of the season last week. Anyone have a link?

Burrow is the best in the SEC between the ears and that’s probly the biggest advantage someone can have. He breaks down information the way an NFL QB does which is why he was able to come in without much time and still command the offense the way he did. This year he’ll likely make a big jump in terms of decisiveness, accuracy and being able to make chunk plays more often.

This is a ridiculous statement, however you went even further than that previously.

You just said you think he's better than Tua. That would make him the best QB in the nation.

If you're going to go all in, just go all in and say it; you think Burrow is the best QB in the country.

Burrow is a good quarterback and he had a decent season last year, but at this point in time, I personally would say false.

Perhaps he'll have a season that will prove him to be the "best complete QB in the SEC", and then again, perhaps he won't.

Tua's the best? Why? Because some sportswriter dashed off a puff piece on Tua in 45 minutes so he could get the hell out of the office before noon? Gullible.

Tua at top-10? Sure. Top-5? Maybe. If not, then close.

Best QB in the country? No.

I think mentally he’s outstanding but the OPs comments about him having “the best arm in the SEC” and the other asinine statements being made by the fantasy land gang are completely false and have no basis in reality. I’m a big Burrow fan but I’m cursed with having to view things in reality so I know his arm strength is good, a little weaker than Danny’s was. His accuracy hasn’t been very good so far, there are other factors that could be affecting this so let’s see if it gets better. He’s pretty slow on his drops, most college QBs are but you can’t compare him or say he’s better than Tua and Fromm when they have such big advantages on the little things that allow for easier more repetitive success. Burrow is one of my favorite players we’ve had at LSU in recent memory but we have to be realistic about what a guy can and cannot do.

False, Tua is by far the best QB in the SEC. Numbers, passing %, arm strength, wins, etc. He had an injury that made him not quite so obscenely better than everyone else, but he still should have won the Heisman.

So your point is you fail to understand that there's differences between good and bad excuses? Are you actually so stupid that you believe stats don't require any further analysis and we should take them at face value?

Jesus christ.

You're extremely unintelligent.

Edit: Let me be productive and get your pea brain understanding the simplistic ideas I just presented a second time (since you're too stupid to understand the first time).

Peyton Manning had horrible stats his first season. According to your pea brain logic, that makes him a bad qb. Regardless of him literally turning the Colts franchise around the next year.

You're so unbelievably stupid that you don't understand how circumstances affect large complex structures like a fb team constructed of over a 2 dozen staff and 80 players. Or do you believe manning had a 2 to 3 time skill level jump in under 12 months?

Here's a question for you, how will you explain it if Joe goes off and leads a stellar offense this season? I don't give two shits what your reasoning is that he wont, I wanna know how you'd explain how he suddenly had a much better season.

“Why? Because some sportswriter dashed off a puff piece on Tua in 45 minutes so he could get the hell out of the office before noon? “

No that’s not why, he’s considered the best In the country because he led the nation in passing efficiency, putting up one of the best years for a power 5 QB ever, and he was top 5 nationally in every major statistical category and is the only returning QB in the country who did so. It’s called proof, it’s when a player actually produces the numbers instead of some fan saying he will do this and he will do that. This guy actually does it and that’s why he gets the recognition. This is a pretty simple concept, I don’t understand why some of our fans have so much trouble with it.
