I really didn’t like the designed QB runs. He’s no more mobile than Etling was. Dude has guts and will do whatever it takes to get an extra yard or two, but those QB draws had me screaming at the TV.
Slants, screens, 5-10 yard outs and back shoulder throws seem to be his wheel house.

I'm not sure why we don't do more quick, inside stuff. Maybe it's because most of our receivers are built like Megatron. Separation is an issue.

The zone read was annoying the hell out of me.

He had a nice 8 yard run to setup the first TD. It’s good to mix them in to show that he can run if necessary.

When there’s not much to bitch about, change the topic.

If Moreau holds his block on that one play, burrow had some room. Run him enough to where the d has to account for him.

He’s less mobile than Etling.
But doesn’t really matter if he can be elusive and can throw.

He threw a pass to a running back. In the LSU universe that's almost the same as being a dual threat.

He can throw to WRs and non-WRs alike.

Several of those runs were there and great defenders made great tackles. Sometimes in football, a small play actually sets up a bigger play. Those QB runs that were called, while they don’t look sexy or resulted in big gains, helped keep Burrow standing up straight in the pocket. It kept him clean which in turned helped him complete some big throws.

Some were good, some looked like he had never run the ball in his life.

Needs to be read option if anything. I didn't like the QB runs up the gut

Dude throws the worst screen I've ever seen. He's had like 4 batted balls and several circus catches by the RBs

Hard pass

this is ridiculous. the guy has shown multiple times this season he's a capable runner. the calls weren't bad. he had a gap but on a couple of plays auburn made a shoe string tackle. otherwise it would have been a nice gain. on another, moreau whiffed on his block (not the first time this season by the way). play those again and they might be huge. i guess this is the new rant meme: burrow can't run.

It was good enough for Charles Mac. What’s the problem?

I didn't like burrow running them. First step is too slow I think

Not enough burst to get through a small Gap

Keeping the defense honest. Also, we were trying to give our poor defense some rest. He can run well enough, and the dude is tough as nails.

he's too slow to be a huge threat but that play should be kept in the book. he's already scored one TD on it and will probably score more. oh, and don't forget the play that he got to the one yard line.

basically, fast or not it can be a very effective play.
