Burrow Had Elite Statistics in HS

In HS, in his senior year, Burrow passed for 63 TDs, 4445 yards and had 2 interceptions. Two FREAKING interceptions. He ran for 642 yards at 5.9 per carry. Will Miles summarized the stats and why they matter, here: LINK /
Some on the board here think he is not much of a runner. He is easily an above average runner for a throwing qb, and in Columbus was considered a better runner than Haskins. He is probably not as good as JT Barrett. In his game time, the running wasn't emphasized. For examples of his running, see LINK
and LINK
I am a Buckeye fan and I am sorry that we had very bad timing with 2 very good qbs competing for time, when it would be unfair to one of them to sit. (Because I think they both have NFL futures, and they both need the reps) My only interest is that Joe goes to a good program like LSU and does well. He was all class at OSU.
See this link for his teammates reactions when he left and the respect they had for him. LINK /

Well, we have put a handful of QBs in the league in the last few years.

Pretty impressive that you’ve been able to pull off so many alters. Maybe a little more creative with the names next time

This kid is the real deal and possible savior.
We finally have something to be excited about.

Brennan also had amazing stats in HS....doesn't mean shite

Burrow is the greatest LSU qb to never play at LSUm

Brandon Harris had great high school stats as well. High school doesn’t mean shite when it comes to college production

I agree. But not as a runner too. This kid looks like the ideal qb to have a chance to win a championship. If you watch his HS and tOSU film, he looks like Matt Flynn.

True but when Burrow played in actual games at OSU, he completed 77% of his passes. He excelled in both spring games. In 2016, he was throwing against 4 no. 1 pick dbs in spring game.
Of course, not having played much to this point, there is a risk that he will not pan out. On the other hand, he has done all that can be expected to this point. Would add that several months ago Meyer stated that he owed it to Burrow to tell him what his status was. (knowing that there was a very good chance that Burrow was going to transfer if not named the starter) If he didn't think Burrow was an exceptional player who would probably excel somewhere else if he didn't start at OSU, he wouldn't have given him that consideration.

Based on this info, Brennan was a better runner. His senior year he was 48/3, 3982 (his lowest yardage by far, for some reason he played in 3 less games) and also ran for 445 at a clip of 7.1 per.
Just sayin'

Who is this "Burrow" fellow? Never heard of him

Fair point. On the other hand, Burrow from day 1 has excelled at OSU when given the opportunity. Apparently not the case with Brennan as I read the comments here.

I’m sure he is a wonderful kid. I will reserve judgement on his talent until I see him on the field.

I agree with you. I'm just saying it's hard to go by high school stats. We always get pumped up and think we got a great qb coming in because of stats and he gets here and he's absolutely shite.
ETA: And it's probably coaching but who knows.

Myles Brennan had one of he most impressive high school stat lines.. and he’s not separating himself.
WHO GIVES A shite ABOUT HIGH SCHOOL

Sorry, but high school stats aren’t really relevant at this stage of the game. Why hasn’t he been able to transfer that into getting on the field? Not flaming, valid question, imo.

True so let’s go by college stats
Brennan
14 of 24 (58%) 182 1 TD 2 INT 119 rating
Burrow
29 of 39 (74%) 287 2 TD 0 INT 153 rating
Brennan
14 of 24 (58%) 182 1 TD 2 INT 119 rating
Burrow
29 of 39 (74%) 287 2 TD 0 INT 153 rating

Myles Brennan Senior year : 4,000 yds, 69% completion, 48-3 Td-Int, 455 yds rushing, 7.1 ypc and 9 TDs.
Burrow also played in 3 more games than Brennan did his Senior year.
So with 3 more games, that's : 5,000 yds, 60-3 TD-Int, 569 yds rushing, and about 10 rushing TDs
So I guess we should be equally freaked out and drooling over Brennan too? Or does a kid who has committed to this program and been here a year automatically get passed over for someone who's never been in the state?
