with the alma mater rule, we should promote Danny Don to head official for all of lsu games.

I just dont see a difference between him or DD being in the replay booth.

They also likely won't do much unless pressured to do so. I say keep disseminating the info found to media outlets so they can report on it. If there is enough media attention, then the NCAA might just investigate at the very least.

3- Our officiating and replay rules and manuals are not for public dissemination, however, we do address things such as “the alma-mater” rule and where someone did or did not attend school when necessary to clear up any misunderstandings, which are quite common when an official’s name gets put out there and internet message board rumors begin

I wonder if they would address the issue of this guy being paid by Alabama Booster Club for speaking engagements.

The alma mater rule is a a little lame, especially when it comes to the gumps. I live in Alabama and probably 90% of all the die-hard Bama fans have never even stepped on their campus, much less graduated. What should matter is whether they have ties to the school or not.

So you compare referee blown calls to Hitler???....WTF is your problem son

ETA Just to explain my post and to go along with his historical line of thinking here.....most time when America has been punched in the mouth yea we licked our wounds for a few days but bottom line we did something about it, for the most part. In this situation there is nothing that you, me, LSU, or evidently God himself can do to change the call. Hey if ya'll want to have a bitch and moan pity party be my guest.

Where did all the gumps go who have been trickling over to the Rant in the last few days?

Probably the SEC put a gag order on them too!

JP,

Thanks for staying after this.

This year's game is in the books and gone, but if we can derail the good ole boy network in the SEC it will be energy well spent for the future. There are many cozy relationships among SEC officials and boosters that need to come clean.

It is not about the call, it is about the integrity of the game and it's ref's that oversee the game. It is this lame thinking why there has never been anything done about it and that is why it is still going on. I have been around LSU for the last 50 years and there has always been this type of stuff going on and it will continue to go on if someone doesn't step in and stop it. I believe it is going to take an uprising from the fans themselves to stop it. According to your logic, when Japan attacked Pearl Harbor we should have turned our backs to them and said that's ok we are all right and we will take care of it in our own way and not done anything about it? It is because of this kind of thinking that World II started, because there where individuals like Hitler out there that would always prey on the week. So, all Japan did was step on the foot of a sleeping giant and the rest is History. Hitler and Japan got their just rewards.

Just more reason to hate Bama IMO. We've suspected these frickers for cheating (maybe not the actual University itself, but people surrounding it) for years now, this just adds more fuel to the fire.

This is probably a leap, but.....

since the SEC is essentially funded with money "provided" by member institutions, and many (not nearly all) of those member institutions are at least partially funded with government tax money.....Couldn't the Freedom of Information Act apply? Thus, requiring transparency of league documents when a request is submitted in writting for such documents?

This position is not allowed to be a graduate of any of the participating schools in the game, just like the on-field officials. The instant replay official in this game was Gerald Hodges, who is not a graduate of either Alabama or LSU due to this policy.

I haven't read all 5 pages, and this is sure to be mentioned somewhere, but I just HAVE to say-

I am not an LSU alum, never attended a class at LSU, and I LIVE IN ALABAMA...but I am honest enough to easily admit that it would not be prudent for me to be involved in anyway with the officiating of any LSU football game..

GEEZ!! These high and almighty pecker-head men at the SEC office are just the types who also think that Clinton didn't REALLY have "sexual relations" with "that woman". They are deluded and self-important.

This settles it. MrMomma talked me out of sitting in Mike Slives favorite early morning Starbucks to call him out, and now I am fired up again......

Seriously, I have to be up at 0500 to take kids to practice, and when's it's really cold, I take a book to the Starbucks and read. He comes in a lot between 0530 and 0600... I have always nodded quietly and given the man his peace.

But I so SERIOUSLY want to blindside his arse with my disgust for this whole season's officiating. I just don't think he'll see it coming from a 100 pound, middle aged woman in the corner of Starbucks!

I can see this somewhat however if LSU would have won the game I guarantee you the loud and obnoxious bitching and moaning wouldn't be heard at all about this issue......if we are gonna band together lets band together one schools fanbase isn't gonna change the culture of the SEC....and if it has been going on for the 50 years you say it has then it is a culture

I don't know where in the hell you got this from anywhere in anything that I said.....America had a problem with a clear solution and they acted swiftly and effectively.....but to compare a blown call or 50 years of blown calls to Pearl Harbor is a disservice to our great country IMO but whatever floats your boat.

Oh Cher, that would be awesome.
Perhaps you could just print a nice 9X10 glossy of that photo that shows both of Petersons feet inbounds and ask him to autograph if for you!
