Even with his flaws, I love Cannon.

With that said, I think Burrow will remain a man of honesty & integrity and will take more of a Marcus Allen approach to it all.

Yes, and it's all in how you respond.

My father-in-law was a freshman during Cannon's Heisman year, 1959. So, Cannon was LSU football to him.

A couple decades later, FIL had a flat tire right outside Cannon's house in Sherwood Forest. As he was changing it, Cannon came out and helped him. He didn't have to be helpful person, but he was.

Yes, Cannon screwed up with the counterfeiting thing. But, outside that he really seemed to be as genuine as advertised.

Like all NFL QBs. Do you think Brady and Giselle roll up to the Sonic in Gentilly on the regular? They have staff.

That's kind of a shame that that's how you would respond. Billy paid his debt to society and he did a lot of good after that happened. That one moment of idiocy did not define that man any more than the worst moment of your life defined you. In addition, as I knew Bunny and went to school with her when her Dad was in prison, I know how painful it was to her as a teen aged girl and her family. And she is a truly nice human being. And she currently represents LSU with class, a sense of history, and dignity And on top of that, her advice was solid. So maybe try being a little less glib and a little more considerate or thoughtful next time.

I’m gonna disagree. If Joe wins these next two and just starts in the NFL for 5 years he’ll be a bigger celebrity than Cannon.

My dad played with Billy on the 58 team . He always said great things about him . Pretty sure he got married early , dad said he was a great athlete and they did not see him much as he did not have to stay at Broussard hall . He spoke at my athletic banquets and called me when I signed with lsu. I respected him ...

This was in her letter to Burrow on Heisman night. Printed in full the next day.
