Just saying, renew your tickets, don't renew your tickets, park, don't park, it doesn't matter, LSU will sell out ALL of their season tickets and fill up every lot, as long as LSU is winning.
That is patently absurd. There is no such thing as a truly inelastic demand. Eventually, LSU will price themselves out of sellout attendance. There is no way 92,500 people would pay (hypothetically) $10,000 per game per ticket to come to Tiger Stadium. At some point, the rising costs will/would decrease attendance.

I think this specific cost hike will impact attendance, especially at the lesser games, due to the huge erosion of the gameday atmosphere. Once you kill off the campus environment (which this will obviously do in short order), then you are left with zero appeal except the quality of the game. And who is going to pay $110+ for nothing more than the opportunity to sit in uncomfortable seats in a hot stadium to watch LSU crush Northwestern State in a game they could watch at home for free?

ETA: Nevermind, just looked up the new policy, and it'll suck, but it's not that bad. I'm an idiot for listening to Rantard alarmism.

I hope you're wrong DBG. I love waking up on Saturday morning and walking outside the dorm to see thousands of people in purple and gold partying.
You can count on that being a thing of the past within the next two years, three tops (if they're still making people pay to park anywhere on campus).

BUT, every paid lot WILL be sold out.
Paid lot?

Isn't the new policy that all parking on campus will be paid-only now?

it's an extra 20 bucks...7-8 times a year. Suck it up. Thats not going to stop the vast majority of tailgaters.

Never mind, I'm an idiot. For some dumbass reason, I took the word of a poster on the Rant and believed that all campus parking was now paid-only. I can't believe I was that stupid.

I hereby retract everything I've said about this policy this morning in all threads. Mea culpa, and all that jazz.

Why again are poor people better/more passionate fans???? If you can't afford the $20 than you most likely cant afford to go to the game in the first place.

I think a lot of you need to re-evaluate your financial situation if an extra $120 a year is going to hurt you that bad. Maybe you should forfeit your tickets and get your money/priorities straight.

Thanks for preaching

Maybe you'll eventually understand that why people are angry doesn't actually have much to do with the actual money.

Maybe it has something to do with some tailgaters who sell their food, and the fee cuts into to their profit margin.

Tell me what it means when there's a sign that says: Jambalaya $7 a plate.

I've never seen people selling food, certainly not $7 for a fricking plate of jambalaya

Hell, if some clown is willing to pay that, I may start selling it
