Bruce Pearl needed 4 years to turn it around. Wade will do it in 2.

Let's see how things play out. Even Wade said he would need 3 years.

And all of Auburn's wins this season will probably be vacated in 5 years anyway.

Bruce Pearl has cheated and been caught every single place he's ever been. He was basically blackballed from college basketball in the early '90s. And now Auburn is currently a part of the big college basketball FBI investigation.

Don't worry, Auburn won't have any banners that hang in their pretty new arena for this season.

We are #3 in recruiting. This isn't football, one good recruiting year and the team will take a huge jump. Now to sustain it he will need to recruit at a night level year after year

John Brady only needed 3 years to turn it around:

1998: bad team
1999: bad team
2000: 26-5, Stromile Swift, Beshara, Bright, Bridgewater and tha Sweet Sixteen!

Brady > Pearl, both on the court, and in the measure of character.

No he hasn't you moron.

Not by the NCAA. By other coaches because he turned a cheating program in.

His only "cheating" was having a recruit and his family at a BBQ (something no longer against the rules and was only a secondary violation then). His big failure was trying to cover that up rather than admit it.

Keep thinking anything he accomplishes at Auburn won't be wiped out.

Look. I am all for cheating in collegiate athletics, given everyone does it.

Still that's hysterical you don't think Pearl is sketchy af

This.

I guess I'll post the weekly reminder for people to remember how bad this team was last year.

Aubbie, what happened with him at Indiana & Tenn.? If you honestly think his only NCAA rules violations were s the bar bq thing, you are either in denial or do not follow college basketball very much. According to the AU administration, he's refused to cooperate with its investigation & the only thing they are waiting for is the NCAA's to show up. This per direct quotes from your own administration. And, oh, why did his two best players drop off the team again? Ah, the assistant coach did it, right? Yea. Ok.

you mean Southern Indiana? He took a team that won 10 games the year before he got there and went 22-7 his first year, went to 9 straight NCAA D2 tournaments, finished runner up one year, and won the whole thing the next. Not a single NCAA violation.

At UT he had his 1 and only NCAA issue. I discussed that in my first post.

I mean it is on recorded tapes who was involved in that matter. Even ignoring that, paying current players by telling them they would be drafted that year doesn't benefit Pearl in any way. It wouldn't make any sense for him to have been involved in that scheme.

There's a lot more that needs change than just the level of talent on the team. There must be a culture change, not with fans, with the mind-set of the players. Those players yesterday didn't believe they could or would win, it was obvious from jump by the way they were playing. They just don't hustle. On one play, after he missed a lay-up, Mays was beat down the floor by the ball handler who took it into the lane. He blew past Mays and Mays didn't respond at all. Even if it's not your man, you must defend the ball if no one else is around to do it. That's not intelligence, that's mentality, attitude, and that must be changed. When Ben Simmons went to LSU his presence did more damage than his talents did good on the court. He didn't care about winning, he was just biding his time until the NBA. There was so much animosity, envy, and discord on that team, it wasn't even a team. You can't win if you don't care and you don't believe. And if you don't care and you don't believe, you sure as hell won't put forth the effort to win. The rebounding woes are a prime indicator of that mentality, rebounding is 80 percent effort and 20 percent being in the right place. These players don't rebound well because they don't care or they don't believe. It's going to take all his experience and knowledge to fix the mentality of LSU basketball. But, he is the man for the job and it will happen.
