It definitely would. But at this point I don't know what he's claimed. His lawyer did say they weren't in the bar though. And I take that as coming directly from his client.

Wow this is huge news. New to me.

Technically it isn't relevant if Andrew was the instigator as long as LSU players threw the first punch. But it is relevant to some extent on public perception and any jury is made up of "the public".

If it is believed that Andrew and his gang were picking a fight then it is much easier for the PD, prosecuting attorneys, judges or jurys to say case dismissed if there is any evidence that puts the 4 guys that got beat up in a bad light.

For instance, lying to police about being in bar, etc, etc. When YOUR name is about to get dragged through the mud you are a lot quicker to settle out of court.

Maybe. But if it is shown that these guys left the bar and waited outside for the football players, that would seem to indicate their initial stories to the police and public were complete bullshite. The one where all they did was honk their horn, and the players drug them out of the truck to beat them senseless. Oh, and the lie that Andrew was never in the bar, and didn't know the other guys.

Let's not forget. Euphemisms like "friendly" will most certainly need to be cleared up in court when describing JJ's relationship with "Liz" when establishing his personality -- given that he's in a "relationship" and he told his dad that none of this happened.
