Mettenberger has a cannon for an arm and hit Russell Shepard in the middle of the chest on a 15-yard slant pass route that knocked Shepard to the ground. Shepard will probably have a bruised chest for a few days

I dont like this. if Mett cant/wont change speeds to suit the distance, the WRs are going to have broken fingers soon.
And we may be looking at passes being tipped by LSU guys and 3rd tier dbs picking off the leavings.
Sorry to worry so soon.
Maybe he will learn fast. I hope so.

It reminds me of the joke about the gorilla who drives to the green and then putts 500 yards.

Ever watched a pro game? You loft out a 15-yd slant and it is a pick 6.

I'd be willing to bet the Dandy one's story is more than a slight exaggeration.

This could be read three ways:
1. Mett needs to learn some finesse
2. RS can't catch well
3. Miles can't coach (position)

I'll just sit back and let all the X-Box know-it-alls tell me.

A 15 yd slant should be thrown with velocity. That's on the receiver to be able to catch it.

There have been quite a few comments from players on Mett having good touch on the ball. I'm not worried about this one report.

I'd go with the story being more than a bit exaggerated. No need to worry just yet.

4. Dandy Don got it wrong. Wait. That never happens.

This thread is terrible. Simply awful.

The guy's in his second day of non-contact spring drills with a brand new team in a brand new offense, and the OP is worried about his velocity being too hard?

Someone tell Brett Favre and John Elway that they should not have had a HOF NFL career based on the above post

It was probably one of those plays where shep caught it and fell to the ground because he slipped or that's the design of the play so he doesn't get killed. It is impossible for any human to throw a football hard enough to literally put someone on their arse. The only other possibility is that it hit shep in the stomach and knocked the air out of him so he dropped down.

Stick to politics otto and leave the sports IQ to experience football intelligence.

Actually, OtI's IQ is closer to 1/188 than 188. He is bad enough on the Political Board. He should stay away from the rant.

Would have been funnier if you just left it at, "Like you?"

I observe you are second guessing Dandy Don.

A 15 yard slant is supposed to be rocketed in. Maybe you should change your handle to ottotheretard.

Your second-hand observations are just as credible as his.
