Wow, all LSU fans are not this way (sophomoric or worse). Your daughter will be met by thousands of LSU fans that would love to share their homemade food with her. There are hundreds of tailgates who conduct themselves in a manner worthy of your daughters attention, and I'm sure she will be able to tell the difference from those who are not.

This is a message board of fanatics, and thick skin is required to be a regular contributer. I hope this hasn't given you a bad impression of the average LSU fan because I guarantee you it is not representative of us as a whole.

Pretty much everything to the right of Nicholson on this map is good for walking around and tailgating. The parade grounds, near the Indian mounds, by Lockett, the F and G lots, the B lot, the R lot...plenty of great spots to stroll through.

She'll love it.

If she's 20 and wants to peruse the tailgates with people her age, tell her to come to the parade grounds. That's where the fraternities tailgate, all girls eat and drink free.

We tailgate right across from the old Alex box bathrooms. Would love it if she stopped by. Just look for the infamous ShotSKi sign.

Thx Gaston - I've already told her the best tailgating is south of Tiger Stadium.

The frats didn't tailgate back in my day. Mostly they got rotten drunk.

Besides I believe the Parade Ground has to be cleared out until late morning because the ROTC cadets are parading that morning.

Just as a comment - this post really is about bringing my daughter, who loves only one college football team, LSU, and has since she was a little kid. This is going to be her first LSU game, and I want it to be special. Instead of most of you offering useful suggestions, a lot of you have gone past being a little frisky to being complete low-class dickwads.

If you have daughters, it would serve you right to have low-class dickwads like yourselves talk about your daughter. I can't imagine what kind of scum-bag sons you are raising. The lot of you have no honor, and aren't deserving to be LSU Tiger fans.

I sincerely hope she doesn't meet a single one of you.

P.S. And unlike most of you I don't hide behind a pseudonym. You wouldn't be so bold if you used your real names. Jerks.

Yeah, Carrell, this probably wasn't the best place to ask advice. Question, since it looks like you're from Austin, do you normally come to LSU games? Do you not have a friend's tailgate she could hang out at? My friends usually tailgate between the parade grounds and the old law school building. We usually don't whip our dicks out or anything, so your daughter should be safe in that respect. But in reality, she'll be good going pretty much anywhere around the parade grounds, but it'd probably better if she had a friend, if for no other reason than to just not get lost.

Thanks for the nice reply.

Until Tennessee this year, I haven't been to an LSU game since the early 80s. Living in CA will do that to you. Since moving to Austin, I intend to get to as many LSU games per year as I can get tix for.

Coming from CA, she doesn't exactly have any friends of college age in BR. I am relying upon the natural generosity and kind-spirited nature that Louisianans are famous for. This topic in The Rant hasn't exactly reflected that. I'd expect a certain amount of dis-respect towards other teams and their supporters, but to a fellow Tiger fan?

And it went past dis-respect.

We are going to have fun in any case. I have found a couple of friends on Facebook who have tail-gates and a couple of folks here have made nice offers.
