My daughter grew up going to the Box, even when she was a baby. She loves it and identifies with it, so I agree that it is ok to bring them, BUT:

1. Set some realistic expectations. I basically was resigned to the fact that I would get about 3 innings out of her. If you plan to go to enjoy watching a full ballgame, forget it, you'll both be miserable. It's like taking a small kid fishing, it has to be about the kid, not you catching fish.

2. The above is just for baseball. My hope is that the crowd remembers how to cheer at a basketball game by the time we play Tennessee, and that could be pretty loud for a baby.

3. We plan to do both games that day and it will make for a LONG day. I can't imagine trying to do both in one day with a baby in tow.

Depends on weather, can be cold in the box. Depends on where you sit too. Forgot about balls and bats coming at you.

How about this as an idea? Just leave the kid home. Why subject him/her to discomfort and confusion?

I'm really struggling to understand how a sporting event causes confusion and discomfort for a kid that's under two.

Most pediatricians actually disagree with leaving your children out of activities that offer visual and social stimulation.

In what universe does the parent believe that the kid is actually enjoying it and has even the slightest notion of what is going on?

I mean my child who's been going to sporting events since she was an infant and is still within your "leave at home rule" knows that when we're walking into the PMAC we're going to "LSU Basketball" and can point out the cheerleaders, Mike the Tiger, etc.

But you're right, we're working on her understanding Cover 2 vs. single safety for football this fall so she can attend and know what's going on better than the 45 year old overweight drunk that's cursing and wants everyone fired when LSU goes 3 and out.

It would be fine to bring him. I doubt he needs a ticket unless he is in a carrier and you want to put him in down next to you?

I personally wouldn’t want to manage him in the pmac but that is up to you and your wife. I would have no second thoughts taking him to the baseball game.

The people that sit next to us in Tiger Stadium, PMAC, and Alex Box get pissed when we don't bring our kid...

Something tells me you struggle to understand a lot of things. Babies don't react well to loud noises for example. Babies prefer familiar surroundings which convey safety to them, babies generally don't like being moved about.

There is stimulation and over stimulation. Whereas the sound of a mother's singing is one thing the roar of a crowd is an entirely different level of stimulation. Given that often the roar comes suddenly, it can provoke a primitive fear response.

Is just the person I want my child to hear for hours on end.

Hey its your kid. If you get your thrills by bragging to your baws that they were LSU fans since 2 weeks old, go for it.

Since you actually believe this, you and I need to meet in person. I have a really great real estate deal we need to discuss.
