Exactly what "ways" should he change to get the program to a higher level?

Beat mid week frickin' teams! He's the g-damn head coach, and gets paid to figure this shite out! How people accept mediocrity from coaches is beyond me. Losing a game here or there is understood, but going close to 50/50 in mid week games is unacceptable. You have these games scheduled to increase your winning percentage!!

The only way Andy would go back to LSU is if it's a dream of his to be the head coach at LSU, which I don't believe to be the case. I believe that we would ultimately match any offer y'all threw at him. It would just depend where he wanted to be and if he wanted to start over again, which is seemingly unlikely.

So, winning more midweek games is the adjustment Mainieri needs to make to get the program back on track?

Come on now, you dont think if Mainieri retired after this year and we offered Cannizaro he wouldn't jump at that? Mainieri makes twice as much as Cannizaro.

I agree if Cannizaro stays at MSU for the next 5-6 years and Mainieri left it would potentially be different, but he has no connection with MSU or anything. Cannizaro is a South Louisiana guy through and through.

Not with new stadium we're building, no I don't think he'd leave. You act as if he has some childhood love for LSU.

Seriously a new stadium?

He grew up in South Louisiana, he coached here, played at Tulane. I would be shocked if he didn't jump at the bit to become a head coach here given the opportunity. It's the premier job in the country. No offense to MSU, also a very good job, but Starkville isn't exactly like his home.

I lean 60-40 to Cannizaro coming here if we offered.

For all the reasons you listed, is why he would come here.

But State would give him alot longer leash since he is building something there. LSUs lease is short, and the fans can be unbearable for baseball

Andy is not going to pull a Lane Kiffin and leave MSU for LSU after one year or two. It would be bad for his name.

No, Winning a majority of the midweek games will increase the winning percentage. But I already stated that.

You are being completely biased. How do you know his personal feelings? Are you a close friend? And yes, a new stadium. One that will shite on every college baseball stadium in the country. Who wouldn't want to coach at the nicest facility in America that would attract the best recruits in the country?

Well, he's not going to be given the opportunity to do so, Mainieri will coach at minimum 3+ more years here IMO. This is all hypothetically speaking, obviously.

People who want to be paid more and don't want to live in Starkville

And you're not?

The facts are he was born and raised in South Louisiana, played college ball in south louisiana, coached for a few years in south louisiana. MSU was an amazing opportunity for him to become a HC but to think there's no way he'd jump at an opportunity for the #1 job in the country is plain homerism. Starkville isn't exactly south louisiana, again...

He wont care about a stadium when he could make more money, coach at the box which easily rivals your new place and be where he's from.

1)We could match any offer that y'all would actually make for a first year head coach. 2) contrary to popular lsu troll belief. Starkville is a great place to raise a young family. It's not the shitty town people make it out to be. I'm willing to bet you have not been here in the past 10 years. Talk all the shite you want about it, but Baton Rouge isn't the fricking oasis you're making it out to be.

He's FROM South Louisiana man, and went to school in New Orleans. I dont know how many times I have to repeat that. Starkville isn't exactly that, or close to it really. Let's not try and pretend Starkville is the place to be right now. And you have no idea if you would match our offer or not. Again, our coach makes twice as much as it is right now.

As nice as the box is, and I mean that. It won't hold a candle to the new Dudy Noble. I'm sorry if you don't agree, but thats a damn fact

No shite Sherlock, you think we we're gonna pay a first year unproven head coach the same amount as someone with CPM's experience. I feel like I'm conversing with a child, good God.

You act like a coach cares one way or the other. Even if it's slightly better, it makes absolutely no difference to them. It's not like it'll be easier to recruit there than here or something.

LSU and Mississippi State have 32 and 17 records, State has one more win and one less loss in the SEC. Why is Andy great and CPM terrible?
