Clearly now this deal was already in place - EVERYONE looks good here.

Deal announced with “clause for nfl”
LSU shows aggressive offer to young hotshot
Team stays focused and distraction averted
Lsu wins natty, then Brady gets paid

Hope he has a long incredible career wherever he goes, will never forget what he did here

Masterstroke by Coach O & Woodward

How long has the "deal" been in place?

Rhule was hired last week.

Contingent on a) getting the right guy as a replacement, and b) keeping this a progressive offense that can score points.

Sucks that he's leaving but it's better to be so successful that your assistants are in hot demand as opposed to everybody saying, "Nah, y'all can keep him"

Sounds good. Except LSU and Edward said the had a plan for Brady on 12.31.19 and Edward was confident Joe would return

Rhule was hired 1.7.20

That was the only objective here.

O said he told Ensminger that they realized they need to run the spread before the O met Joe. There’s no reason he is suddenly going to be back to a boring offense.

I think this could be a great opportunity, imagine if your an assistant on a nfl staff and you see what Joe Brady just pulled off. In one year he went from being a virtual nobody to a house hold name. I’m thinking candidates will be lined up trying to get a Co-OC gig with this program.

I agree Corporate Tiger. We sought consultation from several others as well as Brady. Brady needed a platform after showing us the ropes on his offense and we needed this time to learn from him. I believe O when he said Coach E called plays.

The timing of our play calls was great. People also forget the Coach E engineered several record setting offensive games prior to Brady. Not saying we shouldn't bring in another guy to replace Brady, but I have grown to trust what O has created. He is still the leader of the program.

I’m sure Brady’s agent reminded him to strike while the fires hot. Next years QB surely won’t have the year Burrow had so Brady’s worth is lowered.

E may have called plays, but it was Brady that brought the scheme and game planning. E scored zero twice against Bama. I hope he absorbed everything but they were a team with Brady being the biggest part.

Correct. And I think it is important to point out WHY we wouldn't be back to a boring offense.

Brady is leaving us with a couple of things. Those are why we will not have a "reset":

1. Proof of Concept
Less than 24 hours ago we had the ultimate, undeniable, without a shadow of doubt that this offense works. In the game of all games we just went 4 of 5 in red zone scoring opportunities against a top-5 red zone defense. Orgeron knows what he wants. No need to experiment with a Matt Canada. No reason to wonder "what if". We know it works, we want more of it. We seen it! And there's no going back.

2. Execution of Offense
Now that the concept has been proven, and having seen it in action repeatedly, we know the concepts which are the foundation to what we want. I'm not saying anyone can execute or install them; I'm saying we know what we're looking for going forward. We know BOTH what's not 'it' and what is 'it'.

3. Executor of Offense
We don't know the name of the person...yet. But we know what the characteristics and basis of design of that person is. We know what the 'next guy up' should know. Now we know what to look for, they know how to look for it in a person called a coach.

Those do not guarantee a repeat of what we've seen this year. Those do not guarantee it will be better (or worse... consider we might actually get better... it's possible!). But it does guarantee we are not starting from square 1. We will not be starting over.

We will only be looking for the right guy to execute what is now our concepts with our people. And we know what to look for now.

And further to that point most agreed that Brady was not gonna take another OC job at a different college but a NFL OC job was never out of the equation most even expected him to leave under that circumstance

Ya but they both have the same agent - that makes it easy to start talks

Plus how hard is it to make a deal - McElroy leaked this out like 6 days ago right after rhule got hired
