He did amazing things... at Baylor. A school whose only claim to fame is their women's head basketball coach being Kramer Robertson's mom. Competing for the athletes in the same state as University of Texas, Houston, TCU, Texas Tech, Oklahoma, LSU and pretty much every other university in the country who comes in there and pilfers talent.
Now I ask you. If he did that at Baylor, what do you think he'd be able to do at a school like LSU?
That's how you do a head coaching search. You look for the guy that does the most with the least. And then give him the most and be the best.

Hardly looking at college football as a whole they were never dominating. Your view is myopic. If you want to change the narrative to they dominated offense during his era then I will agree.

'Dominant' is relative. Relative to where he was coaching. What he did at Baylor would be considered 'dominating' at a school like Baylor.
