Kelly beat Bama directly because of good coaching in his first year. Time to run off 7 or 8 of the next 10 and retire 21st century order from the current 11-13.

I was there - it's not out of context in the sense that Brian Kelly really did say that he loved beating Alabama, and it seems like he really did enjoy beating Alabama, but yeah it was definitely not in the context of talking down Alabama.

He was listing things he loves about being a football coach, dropped in the mention of the win over Alabama to get cheers from the crowd, before he got to the punchline of how actually the best part of his job wasn't about what happens on the football field but about helping these kids graduate and be successful in all phases of life and talking about how we weren't where we needed to be yet on that front.

People are really reaching by making it seem like he was talking shite.

Daniels rolling out, throwing a perfect pass to Taylor for the 2 point conversion and hearing 100,000+ people explode with happiness must have been like a shot of pure heroin.

Please explain how that is a shot?

Who doesn't like beating Bama? Who doesn't like the big stadium environments?

The coolest thing about Kelly is he can say that without actually using those specific words.

Is it a shot that he wants to beat a conference team? I mean I guess I see it. This was basically Brian Kelly one-upping Koy Moore.

He came to LSU to have a team capable of beating Bama, which he could not come close to doing at ND. He did it his first year with a pretty hodgepodge team. I can't wait to see a full team of his players competing every year.
