When Huber says that some members of the "backfield" may switch side is he referring to defensive backfield going to offense? I'd like to hear that explained more

I’m not saying scheme doesn’t need to change on Special Teams, but I will say execution of the scheme was seldom worth a crap.

Jack Bech was out of position on kickoff coverage over and over again. The kicker had numerous bad kickoffs also. How is that scheme? That’s crappy execution.

Maybe scheme needs to be changed or tweaked, but coaching and player quality needs to be improved greatly! That’s 100% true.

They’ve only practiced for a few days.

How is that even relevant,

Because it's three days. Not three months.

Special Teams problems went well beyond dropped balls and missed kicks.

I agree.

Not coaching up players on relevant rules is a coaching issue. These things weren’t just one-off exceptions. They happened all season with no improvement over time.

Agree again.

So all of that isn't going to be magically fixed in the first three days of spring practice. That was what I was getting at.

We'll see how improved ST is after the first month or so. You can't expect to hear about a drastic improvement within literally the first three days of spring practice. That's all I was getting at.

Thanks Captain.

Been engrossed in baseball but where's Wiggins? Didn't see him mentioned.

One change in special teams schematics I would like: kickoffs not trying the coffin corner so much that we kick one out of bounds every game.

will not claim to know which one of these is the true problem. either:
Kelly said "scheme does not need to change" in order to not completely throw Polian under the bus.
OR
he is completely rolling Polian under the bus by saying that he cannot coach the scheme.

who TF knows. all i know is that I trust Kelly.

Jesus man

It’s the second spring practice with a new special teams coach, what exactly are you wanting?

Besh proved to be a “me first” guy who focused more on how many times he got the ball rather than being a team player so I won’t put this on Polian.
