He chewed out the kicker for you, not for the team. He wanted to be seen chewing somebody out and a kicker probably won’t turn the whole team against him.

Exactly. Plus the hyperventilating about what BK does or doesn’t say in press conferences. As if any coach ever says anything meaningful in press conferences.

Or because Ramos just wasn't ready like he was supposed to be, and they were 3 yds in the backfield before he moved to kick the ball.

Kelly was upset at the failure and held Ramos accountable for it.

That's fine, but where is the same accountability for an offensive line that can't run block , a defensive line that gets pushed around by an FCS school, a defense that can't tackle, a secondary that rarely plays the ball, etc?

He didn’t chew him out for the kick.

By rule you have to have 3 seconds to spike the ball and the clock was going to start on the ready for play, so it wasn’t an option.

I thought it was a little tryhardism on Kelly's part. Yell at the kicker on camera to show tough coaching, at least publicly.

He got partially blocked on the first one, he misadjusted off a quick snap the second time. I get that no one is above getting yelled at, but kickers are a notoriously "difficult to coach" crew. He knows what he did, technically. Yelling isn't going to motivate him.

On the other hand, and I'll give credit to the coaching staff, #2 was celebrating by making heart signs, "Nuthin' but love, y'all" and no penalties for celebrations.

So, there's that.

You think the rant cares about rules and logic?

Saban, Kirby.. yes they both yell and kick and scream. But there’s a couple differences. It’s when they do it. They have better situational awareness. This was 100% on Kelly for not having them spike the ball. Everyone knows that. So he looks like a little bitch throwing players under the bus. Which is not the first instance. Which leads me to the bigger point. They players don’t respect him. It started with the fake accent and he’s continued to show he true colors. It to mention he isn’t a winner. You think saban demanding perfection with 7 championships is the same as a guy who doesn’t win? No.

Brian Kelly chewed Ramos out for the blocked kick right before halftime. But the reality is, if we had just spiked the ball immediately he wouldn’t have had to rush the kick. Bad game management by Kelly and he chews out Ramos. it seems clearer every day that he can’t handle the pressure of LSU.
Whoever decided to run the ball with Collins instead of spiking it is at fault. I would think Kelly made that call and put the team in a worse position. Kelly is the guy who screws up and blames everyone else. That’s pretty easy to see.

Look at the USC game. He chose to change the gameplan to do not lose instead of pushing the pace and win. After the game he says USCs QB outplayed Nuss.

Kelly didn’t just chew him out, he grabbed him by the jersey and yanked him back when he was jogging off the field around the 15 yard line.

Surprised no one is talking about this more. Some Bob Knight shite

Hire the NIU head coach! I would love to play for him. I doubt he would want to coach at LSU with all the over paid , show boat athletes where it’s me, me, me!!!

Nobody “decided” to run the ball with Collins. He was trying to make a play and failed.

Do you clowns even watch sports?

It was a gift to have the chance. No way they can line up and spike it in 7 seconds from the spot where the tackle was made.

Had LSU made the kick it would’ve been an officials error that gave them 3 points they shouldn’t have had.

Simply the players don't respect Kelly's authority. He is the manager you can't stand.

3seconds is the absolute minimum amount of time allowed to pull off a spike.

quote:

Minimum Time For A Play After Spiking The Ball
ARTICLE 5 If the game clock is stopped and will start on the referee’s signal with three or more seconds remaining in the quarter, the offense may reasonably expect to throw the ball directly to the ground (Rule 7-3-2-f ) and have enough time for another play With two seconds or one second on the game clock there is enough time for only one play (AR 3-2-5-I)

it can be done, but is not guaranteed.

[quote]Although there are 3 seconds on the game clock when the referee signaled it to start, there is no guarantee of enough time to run an additional play other than spiking the ball Thquote]

these are quotes directly from the 2024 rule book
