UGA, Bama (Saban QUIT because of it), LSU, UF are all finding out that you can’t stockpile talent unless you stockpile money.
And what will happen will resemble major league baseball. The teams with the deepest pockets will most consistently win.
Teams in the SEC do not have the deepest pockets.
There's also an element of why Saban was not good in the NFL. Once the players start making more money than the staff the style of coaching has to change dramatically. They don't need your bullshite. Somebody else can offer them more money and they can go. Brian Kelly does not seem like the right guy to deal with that.

BK is a low ceiling coach. We only have 7 more years of him.

He thought will the previous 3 coaches winning a National Championship here, it would be a cake walk.
I mean Les Miles won one and played for another - Where is Les now? He was a terrible coach.
Ed Orgeron - Where is he now? He was a terrible coach.
Brian Kelly thought he could come in here and coast. Now, he's going to have to actually Coach.
But, I've got news for everyone. Next year will be a disaster, unless he hits the portal like Ole Miss did last year.

this might sound ridiculous but he does not strike me as a guy that will hold LSU hostage. I think he resigns in 2-3 seasons anyway despite the contract.

He's gotten a lot of mileage out of his "it wasn't me it was you" after leaving ND. Truth is their AD at the time was offering one of those "extensions" designed to reassure recruits and make a buyout more palpable.
Then LSU threw BK a cash lifeline because the AD wanted the most flashy name. Even then he was far from the first choice.

Since he accepts the blame, and LSU is now 6-3, then he should voluntarily accept 50% (3/6) of his salary and take a $5MM haircut thus far. Not just Kelly, but all the coaches. What a concept...performance-based pay. Fix it, and you get all the money. Skip the talk, and walk the talk. Back to basics. Tackling, blocking, grass drills, conditioning, etc. Like Lombardi said, "this is a football" and made the team practice till sunrise. Get the playing calling fixed. Look, I'm not a "football guru" by any means. I noticed at the game last night, Nuss is looking right where he wants to throw it. IF I'm noticing that, then EVERYONE on that D knows it. And the opposing coaches know it. Why is he not being coached NOT to show his hand?
