I Think that’s going too far.

He just needs to develop.

Not being able to beat out a guy who’s in his fourth/5th year of college isn’t some huge red flag.

I think we need to have a weekly "Brennan Weigh-In" track to follow in TR during this off-season. We could have a percentage of fat to muscle to add more depth to its following . . . We could even have weight lifting accomplishments.

Joe Burrow will throw for 3000 yards and 20 TDs in 2019. Book mark it.

It's a bit funny people went from "Brennan is the savior", to "Brennan will never make it here"

Complete with daily diet, supplementation, and sleep analysis.

The Cochran method is legit.

LSU should send him to an endocrinologist to see if there are chemical factors preventing an anabolic environment is his body.

Burrow will pass the torch to Brennan and then Parish. The controversy will be between TJ Finley and Max Johnson when its their time.

^^^This

Brennan will be an exciting QB to watch when it's his time but let's not rush it (like we did Lee). By the time he takes the reins he'll be more than ready.

For the first time in a long time I'm optimistic about our QB position.

Only way Brennan gets the job is if Joe gets hurt or kicked off the team (not happening).

I’m a big brennan fan but he won’t start over Burrow unless Joe is hurt.

With what Joe did last year, there is zero chance he doesn't start unless he has an injury. He is one tough guy! Brennan will get his shot after next season.

“ add a few pounds”

I’m not going to pretend to be some kinda SEC quarterback expert, but I gotta think there are a lot more important things to being a good SEC QB than how much one weighs.

He needs between 24-27 TDs (16-18 in SEC play) if we plan on competing for a championship. We cant expect to lean on the defense every game.

I've spoken on this at depth, but the things that Joe does better than Brennan were teachable things. The things that Brennan does better than Joe are not teachable.

It seriously is INSANE how in 2020, people pick their favorite narrative and just go with it. Doesn't matter if its politics, sports whatever. We have regressed as a society.

Of course Burrow will be the starter next year, but don't believe for a second that the decision would be made objectively, and I'm not saying that Brennan is better than Burrow. I'm saying that it will never be evaluated.

If Burrow does get hurt, and I hope that he doesn't. No one here can say that Brennan doesn't come out and turn some major heads. Unfortunately, that's the only way that Brennan has a chance even if he has gotten way better.

It's all about the narrative. Whoever controls the story usually controls what people believe regardless of objective data points.

1. Brennan didn't look good in Spring game and Orgeron saved us by getting Burrow.
2. LSU's was going to go 7-5 this season (many on this board argued that this was bs set from vegas over under - Miami hadn't won a game in their last 3 , LSU's roster was still strong etc etc)
3. LSU over achieved this season and is trending upward.
4. LSU is restocking on talent (recruiting is relatively the same)

Just all narratives with very little fact. If Burrow gets hurt next year, and Brennan comes out and lights it up - that will start a new narrative, but it's the only narrative that would allow people to think Brennan is better than Burrow.

I'll be honest - Brennan has a very quick release, great arm strength and accuracy. Burrow is very good at making the correct read and figuring out what the defense is trying to do.

The hype over Brennan was created by a desperate fan base starving for a legitimate QB. Brennan will never start over Burrow and most likely never start period. Anything can happen but the possibility of Brennan ever starting for LSU looks bleak.

After what Joe did for this program last year, he has 0% chance of losing the starting job to Brennan. I’ll also go so far to say that Brennan will never be a starter at LSU.

Exactly what does he do that's better than Burrow? ...I have yet to see anything. Please dont say accuracy.

Yep. That's the narrative. The more people that repeat it the more it becomes fact.

I'm not dogging on joe and im not saying there weren't other factors, but -

He ranked 79th in completion percentage.
60th in completions per game.
65 in passing efficiency.
62 in passing touchdowns.
22 in yards per completion.
35 in passing yards.

We have a defense that gave up less than 20 points like what almost every game but 3?

The narrative was that LSU was going to suck. Joe's biggest contribution was the knowledge that he had from elsewhere to help Ensminger implement an offense for the first time in 20 years.

Brennan having more time in the system... don't forget that Burrow beat him out despite being newer to the scheme and WRs.

Burrow now has a full offseason to develop, too.

I think the telling point is that Brennan never played a series, even once he met the redshirt rules.

LSU fans NEED a QB controversy, but you can't blame us. Blame Miles!
