I’m saying if he was at Bama, and all other factors were identical, there’s likely at least a 50/50 shot he returns. We’ve seen Saban do this over and over again. At LSU, he leaves as soon as he’s draft eligible regardless of his draft grade.

Maybe....but I'd bet money if he is a day 1 starter at Bama and they win a title in his first 3 years then he goes to the draft early even there. I mean if you are going to be a top 5 pick you go....you don't come back it doesn't matter what school you go to or who your coach is.

Ed Orgeron on Myles Brennan's injury status:

"He was throwing the other day. I don't expect him back next week. I have not talked to him. Beau (Lowery) has not said anything about him practicing. I don't think he's ready to practice right now & I don't expect him back next week"

Translation: Coach O has no idea what's going on anymore and no longer cares now that he's been terminated.

Case Keenum.
There are a ton of other six year seniors.
Keenum redshirted his freshman year. Medical redshirted his fifth year.

Tyree Turner

That link is to his bio on UAB’s 2021 Roster

2020 Article

quote:

Turner was a preseason All-Sun Belt Conference pick in 2019, but sat out all but one game due to an ankle injury suffered in the season-opener against Nebraska. He played as a fifth-year senior this past season, but is expected to apply to the NCAA for a sixth season of eligibility due to both his 2019 injury and also a season-ending knee injury suffered in the third game of his 2015 freshman year.

As the article states, he was a true freshman in 2015 at USA and a Redshirt Senior in 2019. He applied for a sixth year of eligibility for 2020 - and apparently since 2020 didn’t count he’s back again in 2021 for his seventh year.

Fwiw, the best I understand now is that a player can’t apply for the extra year until his final year.

But regardless of the NCAA granting a 7th year, couldn't the SEC nix the same just because Brennan doesn't come from nor play for a team in Alabama?

Actually, if he can come back he should because he is auditioning for a new coach based on film. Nuss looked better than Max the other night in mop up duty.

He can do that in the Spring, and not get killed by Bama.

They definitely tried to put too much weight on that kid in too short a period. Too much fat and not enough muscle !

He’s made of glass. Stop expecting him to come back.

You're an idiot. He broke his arm ffs. Before that he tore a muscle apart.
2 separate and completely categorically unrelated.
