Give Cam a mostly-already-developed QB, and let him be a real OC, and a strong and balanced offense is the result.
Note1: Mostly-already-developed means a QB who has good footwork and field vision and can stay calm and see his options and make smart decisions, while possessing the prerequisite adequate arm.
Miles is seeing plenty from Etling in order to "trust him", and he clearly never trusted Harris (based on the obviously constrained playbook)....Therefore, Miles may get out of the way and let Cam do what he is capable of doing.
Note2: I am not saying Etling is the same caliber as the other guys, but I am saying he is showing the classic SEC Championship style of distribution of the ball, and that is a great thing to FINALLY see for the LSU Football Tigers!
Cam is capable, as long as he has a QB who does not require "BASIC DEVELOPMENT". Development is a process, which never ends, but there has to be some already-established basic competency for Cam to do well. He can do well. Get some JUCO's and change the QB's we recruit, and then Miles will trust the QB, and unleash Cam, and we will reverse these last few years of nonsense.
Geaux Etling and Geaux Tigers !

So essentially you are saying Cam can only coach up white kids

I hadnt' really noticed that...But maybe we should throw Antwan Randle El into the discussion, as perhaps he developed him at Indiana? Randle El was a freak of nature, but maybe it is more fair to say Cam developed him. Does anyone know? Although, he was a running QB, and his 4-year stint yielded a 49.9% completion percentage with 42 passing TD's and 37 INT's...Hardly SEC Championship caliber, so I guess I was right to being with not including him as a developed QB.

I believe Cam coached this guy in college throughout his college career.
While at Indiana, Randle El became the first player in NCAA Division I history to pass for 40 career touchdowns and score 40 career rushing touchdowns.[2] In 2001, he was awarded the Chicago Tribune Silver Football, presented by the Chicago Tribune to the Most Valuable Player of the Big Ten Conference. He finished his college career as fifth on the all-time NCAA total yardage list, and became the first player in college football history to record 2,500 total yards for each of four consecutive years. Tallying 7,469 passing yards, 3,895 rushing yards, and 92 touchdowns running and passing for his college career, he finish sixth in the Heisman Trophy voting in his senior season. Randle El ended his college career with a 26–15 win over the Kentucky Wildcats, passing for two touchdowns.[10]

I'm not sure the influence he had an Randle El. I'm sure someone else could chime in. You could also add Flacco to your list of QBs

I think the truth is closer to this: Cam Cameron has done a pathetic job at recruiting the type of QB who can best grasp and execute his scheme. See the recent Advocate article on the QB Quandary at LSU under Miles/Cam. Brennan may break this cycle, if Miles/Cam survive long enough to coach him.

If he stays, I think he's going to do wonders with McMillan and Scott. Scott is going to make Cam look like a genius, IMHO.

Was Tom Brady developed in college?

Another white one. I see a trend "developing" - haha, get it?

49.8 completion percentage in their 3 years together. No thank you.

I think so as well. Scott is a brilliant young man and has great work ethic to study and perform.

Yea, no QBs improve once they get to the league. Everyone knows you come straight out of college ready to tear up the NFL.

Cam can't coach raw guys I guess. Franks probably would have sucked but Shea would've been good already.

Cameron has only been here for three recruiting cycles, and he underwent cancer treatment which cost valuable time with Harris last year. His recruits are Harris, McMillan, Etling, and Scott. It's not like Louisiana is overflowing with QB talent. We have great athletic talent at QB positions, but in a State with the likes if Fournette, Hill and Guice, a downhill running style matches the best talent in the State and hence the style. Fournette is here because we are a downhill running team. If the two commits stick this year, and either Scott or McMillan can replicate Etling so far, LSU will be in good shape. The only miss is Harris and that seems to be due to his struggles in live games.

Flacco was a Mid-1st round pick from an FCS program. That's not quite the same as developing an immature HS kid with a million dollar are and a 10 cent head.

Does the nfl make a habit out of drafting undeveloped qb's?

I understand they're not the same exact thing, but he undoubtedly helped develop Flacco.
