Exactly. We have no idea if there will be significant long term pulmonary effects from the virus.

We definitely act like the flu is nothing when young healthy people get it.

I get what you’re saying about the community spread and being worried players could spread it to others.

But for the players themselves and it’s impact on their health it will be less severe than a bad flu for 99% of them

They just want them fine for their LSU playing days, long term ain't their problem.

We treat them and keep them in bed, they sure as shite don't continue life as normal.

Why should we do differently for COVID, especially when it's more contagious and doesn't have a vaccine?

You think it’s just the athletes that have it at this rate? We’re just finding out about the athletes bc they’re newsworthy and bc they’re getting tested as part of the program.

Oh I agree they should be quarantined and get treatment. It’s just not the end of the world. Just like a flu outbreak isn’t the end of the world

So we have 30 cases and Clemson has 23? We aren't still kicking their arse 6 months later.

Agreed.

Like I said, none of these players are going to die.

But people acting like this is no big deal, especially in terms of what it means for a potential football season this fall are being willfully ignorant.

Don’t know if people are suggesting differently. But we don’t have to cancel life to prevent young people from getting it.

The average age of death is like 81. It is EXTREMELY rare for a young person to have severe symptoms.

The death rate has nothing to do with this.

I agree but only in the sense that the backlash from the media and public could be enough to shut it down.

But it makes no sense to shut it down scientifically or medically in light of this news. If anything this makes it easier to play

If 75% of our team has gotten it and fully recovered by August how is that anything but a good thing?

And before I get accused of only caring about the players playing and not about their health or some bullshite, I have the same exact same opinion about the student body writ large.

IMO the more young healthy people who get it and recover this summer the better

Generally, getting viruses at Tigerland is not news to anyone. this particular virus is though.

They will test positive this year and next year and the year after.

The virus isn’t going anywhere.
