18 punts in 11 games or 1.6 punts per game. Leads nation.

For comparison, ZVR punted 47 times in 14 games or 3.3 punts per game in 2019. Tied for 10th best in nation.

This offense is very good.

Speaks volumes about the offense and their efficiency. However, the times he has punted it's been underwhelming, with many whiffs out of the 18.

Yea and it sucks that we can’t even really enjoy it.

Just a breath of defense is all we needed….

It is amazing however the new clock rules have definitely shortened games & absolutely limits the amount of possessions each team gets in a game.

LSU only had 3 2nd half possessions against Ga State Saturday Night.

This is why Michigan was able to run it 25 times in a row and beat Penn State once they got up.

2019 (15 games)

93 TDs (61 passing + 32 rushing)
27 FG attempts (21 made)
3 failed 4th down plays
12 turnovers on offense (7 INT + 5 fumbles)
47 punts

93 TDs in 182 possessions (51.1 %)
Scored on 114 of 182 possessions (62.6%)

2023 (11 games)

67 TDs (37 passing + 30 rushing)
15 FG attempts (12 made)
8 failed 4th down plays
6 turnovers on offense (4 INT + 2 fumbles)
18 punts

67 TDs in 114 possessions (58.8%)
Scored on 79 of 114 possessions (69.3%)

Of course, 2019 played 3 good teams in SECCG, semis, and championship (but still scored 37, 63, and 42 ).

If only the defense could stop good teams from scoring .

Don’t be a sour puss. He’s still averaging 44.1 yards per punt.

Something about using a foot to kick the ball in football.

It's crazy to think that with this offense and a decent defense, LSU could have been the best team in college football this season.

That's a big difference. However remember they did shorten the game some with possessions. This stat is crazy how seldom we see the punter.

It is, but both 2019 and 2023 benefited from a revolution in rules and an evolution in offensive talent - QBs that have been running spread since they were five years old, WRs who would have been safeties and TEs who would have been DEs a generation ago. It’s not only raised the offensive talent, it has lowered the defensive talent.

Archie Manning would have been a god had he played today.
