I remember one of my buddies, on the old #9, a par three that ran parallel to Nicholson, once sliced his shot into traffic and struck a big 18 wheeler. We were all jumping up and down and cheering, and the group in front of us thought someone had made a hole in one.

I remember playing that hole one afternoon. Me & my roommate were paired up with a guy we didn't know. This guy liked to tee the ball up way high and play it off his front foot...even his iron shots. So #9, I think it was about an 8 or 9 iron, this dude hits about 2 feet behind his ball and scalps out about a half acre from the tee box and lays the sod right overtop the ball, which was still perched up on the tee. I couldn't get my breath for about 5 minutes.
