He obviously didn't see that it wasn't dropping in. Have to agree that he should've been more aware of the ball flight.

CPM in love with hit and run. We need to work the counts. This guy needs to throw more pitches and work for it.
We've been saying this since Stony Brook and IT NEVER HAPPENS and at this point we might as well give up on it.

So as of now, it's Deichmann with that bus headed towards him, rightt?

Deichmann is supposed to look in and check. Yes. It's a hit and run. But it's no different that a straight steal where if the ball goes in the air you get back. Deichmann even stutter stepped. He should have gone back.
Agreed
I love how the announcers had no idea what CPM was telling Deichmann in the dugout after that play too. It's like, come on fellas, use your brain and baseball knowledge here

Hit and run is a great call for someone in a slump. Hit through the hole help turn things around.

It doesn't work often. And it's even more frustrating in the first couple innings. Stupid.

Deichmann makes some interesting decisions sometimes. I understand he didn't go on his own, but once things are left up to him, he has a tendency to have his head in his arse.
Just because Deichmann went to a private school doesnt mean he still didnt go to highschool in New Orleans.

Sometimes that's exactly why you do hit and run

Is letting him hit away a better choice? A hit and run gets him swinging the bat and opens up the defense. If that ball is on the ground it's 1st and 3rd with no outs.

With a fly ball hitter who is 1-26? No.

Beau, Papierski, Freeman, and some crookedness due up in the bottom of the 3rd

You're right it's sheer luck this team while replacing 8 of 9 hitters is hosting a super regional. No coaching at all. (Sarcasm)

Is he a ground ball hitter? Does anyone know how many popups/flyouts the twins have?
