and the announcers even mentioned that would be the end of them doing that.

Then they did it in the second game against us in the tourney and won.

You do realize that if a pitcher pitches less than 30 pitches in an outing, they can go in spot relief the next day. But they probably won't be needed bc Latz should give us 3 innings, Poche may be able to go 2-3 (depending on how quick), Bain will be ready to go depending on swelling, and w/ still have Valek for a few innings.

I don't recall seeing the owl for the 2nd game, but if they did then wouldn't that make it 2-2? 1-1 v UF & 1-1 v Rice.

I'd like to get on board the rally train, but objectively speaking I'm having trouble seeing how we'll get past Rice's bats. They've been on a tear the back half of the season scoring 10 + runs in most of their games.

As a baseball fan, I have a lot of respect for the discipline and swing mechanics I'm seeing from these Rice players. They're identifying pitches they want to swing at very early in the process and they're barrelling up quickly and accurately and have extremely fast hands. You don't see a lot of foul balls or check swings with this group. With Poche and Lange gone, i don't expect the above to change tonight. Especially if we only get an inning or two with Latz.

Past Fraley, Robertson, Freeman, and Duplantis; the Tigers are really struggling at the plate mechanically facing any non-fastball pitch which can be chalked up as inexperience, but the bottom line is simply the production hasn't been there compared to the opponent.

I'd like to believe we will win tonight, but if I'm depending on a rally, then that ain't good. Let's just go out and be the better team tonight, Geaux Tigers!!!

From only 5 players. Fraley, KRob and Deichmann combined for 11 hits. Reid and Freeman got the other 4.

When your 2,3 and 5 holes combine for 11 hits and 2 HRs, you should score more than 6 runs.

It happens in a one game scenario. It obviously cannot happen again today. Jordan also hit a couple of balls hard.

Rice is really down to the bottom of their pitching staff. They gave up 24 runs in their last midweek game.

Mainieri, aka Capt. Hit and Run, needs to back off most of that fetish and let his hitters do the work today.
