Well, we need Florida to win today. Beat UF tomorrow (who perfect game has as the #1 overall seed). I would think that pushes the selection committee, but...stops them. I still say lsu gets screwed because of ULL being a national seed.

I'm liking our chances better and better.

If we beat Florida Sunday, I believe LSU will get a national seed. The more I compare LSU and rice, the harder time I have picking rice over LSU....LSU will have better record, better RPI, better Polls....anything is possible but IMO lsu's resume will be stronger than rice's. Rice faced a tougher schedule, but that's already included in RPI.

ULL getting one has nothing to do with us. 2 Florida teams for sure are getting one

So, if UK beats Florida again, and we play them...then what happens?

I think the committee will take into consideration the two cancelled games.

I think people are making too much of Florida or Kentucky....yes of course Florida would help more, but it's shaping up to where a win against either should/might be enough. (Hell, it looks like we may be #8 RPI before we even take the field tomorrow)

So yes we'd prefer Florida, but it's not the end of our national seed hopes by any means if it's Kentucky

MOST IMPORTANTLY: just win, whoever it is against.

in the selection committee's eyes, they want lsu and ULL opposite each other. That's why they call it regional and super regional. While, I'll agree with your point about UF and FSU, it's a different situation. They were both national seeds before the conference tournaments started.

I want to slap the frick out of people who say this.

Oregon and Oregon State have gotten Super Regionals before. Florida, Florida State, and FSU have gotten them at the same time. UC Irvine and Fullerton have. Plenty of times it has happened in Texas.

So they use the tournament to give automatic bids to the post season, but they don't factor in tournament wins? It's part of the regular season resume.

Even though there's no such thing as exactly equal resumes, I think what those people mean is if you have a situation where two teams have identical resumes and it's a flip-a-coin committee decision, And one of the choices already has a super very close (or in its conference) and the other choice would "spread" the supers out (whether it be by conference or geography), it's not unreasonable to think that the committee would (and arguably should) go with the latter.

That said, that's a theoretical perfectly equal choices, which is impossible.

Think of it as a "tiebreaker" when they're split on who to choose.

Just because there is precedent does not mean that the committee will not factor proximity into their decisions. There are 5 teams fighting for the last national seed, and I do not think it is blasphemous to suggest that it could be a tie-breaker working against LSU.

What will you say if LSU gets left out of the top 8 if they win tomorrow? And then, they pair the laffy and BR regional

I recognize RPI as one measure but polls have to mean something as well

Will you shut the frick up if that doesn't happen?

You act like the committee wants us and ULL together no matter what.

We have give more proof than you that shows its less likely they leave us out bc ULL already has a spot. You're just going off of blind opinion.
